Well, since the popularity of Cooking Mama, cooking games and games that involve it are flooding the market. I can think of a few ones that have cooking and came before it, though, Harvest Moon and Survival Kids immediately come to mind.
There's also Motoko-Chan Wonder Kitchen on the Super Famicom (even if it was just a big ad for mayonnaise LOL) and I think there's one on the Famicom.
What are your favorite ones and ones am I missing?

How could I forget about Ore No Ryouri....
I'll check out the other one.
I recall cooking in Tales of Symphonia but I don't remember the extent or complexity of it.

In Dead Rising I think you can put frozen pizzas in ovens and cook them. You can also make shakes by putting random food stuff in teh blender.

Nobody has mentioned Burgertime yet? For shame, you guys!

Just beat me to Burgertime. :)
Fast Food (2600) - Kind of. You play as a disembodied mouth and attempt to catch food flying at you.
Short Order/Eggsplode! (NES) - Two food-themed Power Pad games (vague, but haven't played it in a long time - I should take this one out just to see what it looks like again.)
Panic Restaurant (NES) - Play as a chef and battle evil food.
Legaia 2: Duel Saga (PS2) - Your characters can learn recipes during the game, and cook them while at a camp/save point to give the party temporary ability boosts.

Lost in Blue, Lost in Blue 2, most Tales games, Thousand Arms(date with Sodina,) Suikoden 2, Star Ocean 2, and Cooking Mama are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
If you ask me, the Suikoden 2 cook off is the coolest one there, Star Ocean 2 coming in a close second.

I can't believe this topic went so long without a mention of Burgertime. I mean, it's on the top of every page on the forums!
Anyways, let's not forget Chase the Chuck Wagon. Sure, you may not be cooking it yourself, but you're trying to get food, and that's close enough in my book.

There's an Iron Chef game for Saturn.
And don't forget the bread baking in Ultima VII. That was fun.

Oh also in Contact for DS. You have to cook certain foods to eat them. Otherwise they're useless.

The cell phone game "Stranded" by Glu Mobile has you stranded on an island. You can collect various fruits from trees, plants, herbs, and kill animals. You can then combine the ingredients at campire sites to create more nutritious (higher health point) foods that you can consume or sell at a higher price to the natives of the island.

Also, on an only vaguely, vaguely related note... I used to see ads for a wrestling game in a magazine a while back. It showed a picture of The Rock in tight little shorts, with a perplexed expression, and the slogan "Can you smell what The Rock is cookin'?"
I always thought they were implying he had crapped his pants or something.

Paper Mario has a cook that creates new items from combinations of other items you give her.

Doesnt one of the Japanese Yoshi games for the SNES have a cooking part?Oh right, Kuruppon Oven de Cookie (http://www.mariowiki.com/Yoshi%27s_Cookie_-_Kuruppon_Oven_de_Cookie). I never made any sense of that one. (I guess the original Yoshi's Cookie also technically involves baking.)
Most of the Warioware games have cooking somewhere or other.
But nothing can top the Honeywell kitchen computer from 1966:

This one is pretty obvious, but any of the Sims games require you to cook. And for the poster that said just getting food should count than Food Fight would also make the list.

I think it was called chef. I remember theres a remake of it on Game & Watch Gallery 2. Where you bounce food to cook it and then feed it to a Yoshi. Well thats the remade version the original you just like bounced food i believe.

There's a section of Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers on NES where you have to jump through a kitchen with boiling pots
