360 Error 74...?

My Xbox 360 got this error, and MS customer service said I probably have to send it in, but I noticed that when I turned it on, wirhout my AV cables in the system, the red ring didn't come up. (it does otherwise) I was wondering if any of you guys and gals think it's an in system problem, or faulty AV cords. Thanks!

I'm assuming you have only one flashing red light when you get the error message, is that right?

If it's the one I think it is, then it's a problem with your AV connection, if you have access to a different AV cord give that a try and see if it helps.

If it doesn't show any red rings when you don't have an AV cord in, the system is definitely fubar. The system should show 4 red quadrants when there's no AV cable.

Well good-bye 360. It was nice... I take that back, it was a piece of junk that couldn't even last over 13 months. I could send it in for 100 dollars, but that just seems like a rip off for faulty hardware. I'll play my SNES instead since it still works...
