For some reason when I use my Logitech wireless controller with Street Fighter Alpha Collection for the PS2 the menus in the game don't function properly.

The game acts as if I'm pressing left constantly... like holding down left on the d-pad. It makes it impossible to select which game to play as it just cycles through the games. Once I'm in a game (a random game), it does the same thing with the in-game menus, so selecting a game mode is done through trial and error.

The weird thing is that once I'm actually into the fighting game proper (starting with the character select screen) the game works fine. I can select whichever character I want and their special movies work flawlessly.

What gives? Has anyone else had this problem?

No ... but in a semi-related incident, last week I couldn't get a Blaze 2-player arcade style joystick that I picked up at the DP Store to work with Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for PS2.

That one.

It's a sweet little arcade stick, and it works fine with everything else ... just not that game.

Nope, never had that problem. I just popped it into the PS3, and didn't have a problem with my arcade stick or the controller.

Frankie: If the PS2 version of Anniversary Collection is anything like the Xbox version, it's very picky about what controllers it'll accept. It could be that it's incompatible with digital PS1 controllers.

That's probably it. There's no analog on those things.

The stick probably wasn't centred when the controller was turned on.
Also, it's possible that the analog stick's dead zones for the menus may be smaller than those for the actual game.
