Most PlayStation games require a memory card to save, but there have been a few that don't utilize the memory card at all. Some require passwords, and some don't have a save option at all. Here's the games that come to mind:

-All Star Racing - IIRC, there's no save option whatsoever, but there aren't any hidden cars/tracks/etc, so it only would have been useful for saving track records.
-Gex - password
-True Pinball - No save option whatsoever, so it only would have been useful for saving game options and high scores.
-Twisted Metal - password
-Twisted Metal 2 - password

Know of any that aren't listed above?

Off the top of my head I can't remember. But I know I've come across a few in my 200+ PS1 game collection. Unfortunately it's still boxed up so I can't check.

Final Doom uses a password feature.

D must be played thru in 2 hrs unless you die.

As far as I remember you can't save, just use passwords, in Mega Man X2.

Off the top of my head, Skullmonkeys is the only one I can think of.

I was thinking of doing a feature like this ;D

Add Mortal Kombat 3 and Trilogy to the mix. Also Puzzle...something.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure Street Racer fits the bill. I remember looking at the executable in Notepad and finding the hard-coded password list.

Add Warhawk to the list. Alien Trilogy and Disruptor as well. The latter two support both the memory card and password, so you don't need a memory card to play and finish the games.

I don't think Novastorm has one, if I remember right.

I'm at home and looked over a few more cases.

Wipeout

do not offer memory card support, BUT I think Wipeout actually support saves, just doesn't have the icon on the back of the box.

For the link at Gamefaqs, Ridge Racer DOES support memory card. I still have my save for it with the black car unlocked.

Nightmare Creatures has both memory card and password.

Also. Does the second disc on the US Rival Schools have a memory card option? There is no create a character option like the JPN version and it only consists of the practice, versus, and arcade modes, so I'd assume it doesn't.

Offhand (that haven't been mentioned yet),

-Johnny Bazookatone
-Spider: The Video Game

Both used passwords IIRC.

Also, Final Doom was already mentioned, but "regular" Doom on Playstation also used passwords.

These are presumably all quite early games, right?
