Ok i want to know if i need a step down transformer to get a NTSC PS2 to work here in Australia. The details.

Vers SCPH-79001 __
Output: DC 8.5V --- 4.5A
Input: 100 - 240V~1.2A

Comes with the AC Adapter which is also 8.5V but which is version SCPH-79100 for some reason.

Im not sure exactly what i have to take into consideration except the Volts, and since the range goes up to 240V i'm assuming its all good???, all i need is a universal outlet (to accommodate the US plugs). Also are there any other considerations? thanks

If it's a slimline PS2 you are getting with the external transformer, you can just use one from where you are on it instead. Or a plug adapter. The transformer itself as you list is multivoltage.

just get a plug adapter, im pretty sure that's the cheapest and best route. if the brick says it can handle 240 then all you should need is that plug adapter

Thanks, i was pretty sure, just needed confirmation nothing like current or resistance had to be taken into consideration.

One thing - do the latest slimlines come with a built-in power adaptor? I remember reading some news articles about this a while ago...

I believe that version was only released in Japan.
