Was routing thru the local thrift store video game offerings, and found a music CD mixed in with the PS/PS2 games.I told the clerk,"hey you guys got a music CD mixed in with games!".She says no,there's a PS2 game in with that CD.I do the usual "yea, right" expression back to her on my face, but I'll be damned, after closer inspection, there it is,a Demo disc in with the alternative rock group P.O.D.'s "Payable on Death" CD.The game demo is for the PS2 game Amplitude, and has the usual standard clause "Demo Disc,Not For Resale".Has this been done before, putting game disc in with music CD's?Is this a rare demo disc?Should I even care? I know of one other demo mixed in with a soundtrack.
That being, the Gran Turismo 2 Bonus PlayStation Disc, paired in with the Gran Turismo - Music at the Speed of Sound soundtrack.

Here is some info on the POD demo.

There also is a soundtrack cd, mixed in with a ps2 demo + sleeve.

the Beatmania 3rd Mix Complete soundtrack included a demo ("Beatmania 3rd Mix Mini"), which I thought was pretty neat.

Buy it if you're a collector, but don't ever open it.
Not sure if it'll be worth more sealed, but at least you won't subject your ears or surrounding people's ears to any harmful P.O.S. music.
Win-Win!

The same thing happed to me a couple days ago when I bought a large lot of games off E-bay. I somehow ended up with a Shaq-Fu CD. I thought it was a Sega CD game, but it would only play audio and only had one song.

I later looked it up and learned that it was packed in the Genesis Shaq-Fu game. The song was from his album, Shaq-Fu: Da Return. I don't think it helped with sales.

By the way, I always thought P.O.D. was a decent band. I'm not a Christian, but I really enjoy "Youth of the Nation" and "Alive."

I remember Joe of Digital Press writing about the P.O.D. Amplitude demo disc in his Tips & Tricks Collector's Closet column years ago. I used to work for a music chain and kept waiting to see a copy of that album show up in our used bin, but it never did, and I don't reallly like P.O.D. but I always wanted to add that CD with the demo to my collection.

In a similar way Dave Mirra BMX on the Playstation had a music CD packaged in. All I really remember was that the tracklist was way out of order.

Also, they bundled a music CD with Killer Instinct back on the Super Nintendo it was called the "Killer Cuts" soundtrack and is totally bad ass.

It's the only reason I have that CD.
