Word Challenge - Clone of What

Recently, someone I know has been addicted to some game on Facebook called Word Challenge (can be seen here http://blog.playfish.com/2008/05/01/our-second-title-is-word-challenge/) Basically, it takes six random letters, and you have to make as many words from them as possible.

Fact is, this is a newer game, and I remember playing this a few years ago (not on Facebook,) so I know this is a clone of something. I want to know if there are any more clones of the same thing (preferably for DS) so I can buy it as a gift.

hmm boggle perhaps? or some kind of word jumble? I wouldn't be surprised to find a game like that on ds there may be a mode like that in brain age or a similiar game.

There isn't a mode like that in Brain Age 1/2 or Big Brain Academy. I don't think there is anything in CrossworDS either, but there are a bunch of new word games out on the DS that I don't own that very well could have it on there (word-jong, Word Jumble, USA Today Crossword, NY Times Crossword).

Anagrams
The anagram portion of the game has virtually no limit, instead of clear-cut puzzles, the game will generate six random letters for use. The objective is to get as many words as you can using the provided letters. The developers were courteous enough to provide a blank list of words that players fill. Anagrams are divided into short, medium and long ones; short asks up to four-letter words, medium asks up to five-letter words and long asks up to six-letter words. Some conflicts may occur, especially when an inappropriate word is entered.

Looks like Zynga's Word Twist, also on Facebook. I think there was the exact same game on Yahoo a couple years ago too, but I have no idea what the original was.

i played a version of this about 5 years ago, on my pocket pc. don't know if it's made by the same folks, but it's also named word challenge (http://www.astraware.com/ppc/word/wordchallenge/?skucode=0453-000-0338&page=description) and one of the four games in the pack is like what you're describing.

my favorite game in the pack was one where you got a grid of letters and had to make as many words as possible within the time limit.
