Looks like another talented studio gets saved: http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/crytek-acquires-timesplitters-dev-free-radical/?biz=1

Unfortunately many people lost their jobs when Free Radical first closed down alittle over a month ago. Hopefully Crytek allows all of FR's former employees to come back and continue doing what they do best. I'm also wondering if Lucasarts would still be interested in letting Free Radical continue work on the next Star Wars: Battlefront title. I guess we'll find out eventually.

I hope they let them continue doing things their own way. At least some of them were saved though.

Seeing as in an interview, one of the dudes said that the technology where you could fly into orbit was staying within FR, I would love to see the full game come out.

After Lair, I'm not so sure.

Glad to hear that Free Radical got scooped up though, despite the extremely underwhelming Haze.

And yes, I'm aware of the contradictory nature of those statements, but I haven't suffered Haze firsthand.

They had better publish Timesplitters 4!

Or else ....

not being a fan of timesplitters, i'll say at least it's good somebody isn't losing their jobs in the gaming industry.

it'd have been interesting to see free radical's version of bf3, but honestly i'd rather the series stay with pandemic. the first two games had some rough edges, but they were a helluva fun coop experience. those rough edges could get way worse in the wrong hands.
