I just joined live and have a 20GB HD. I realized I'm going to be filling this up pretty quick if I dont watch it. I saw some used 60GB's for about $50, will this fill just as fast, or should I go with dropping the loot for a bigger one?

If you're just playing games, you'll have a hard time filling it with DLC/Xbox Live games.
If you're buying movies or installing games to the hard drive you'll feel the crunch a lot more. I've had to do minimal space management on my 20GB until recently, when I got in the habit of installing the game I was playing to the HD and used the license transfer tool for Rock Band (there's 1.5GB gone :P)

I've had no problem with space on my 20 gig except that I only keep one game installed at a time. But for me this is fine since I usually play one 360 game at a time for the most part. Installing is the only thing that really takes up an abundance of space game-wise. Movies and stuff are a different story.

Lies! DLC content for some games is obscene. Map packs for games like Halo 3, CoD3/4/WaW, Gears1/2 ect will eat mucho space (between 800mb-1gb+), not to mention RB DLC if you really get into it, or do the transfer of the RB1 songs.
I only have like 5 or 6 arcade games, and I don't buy DLC. I keep one game installed at a time on my 20GB and never run out of room.

I have the maps for Halo 3, COD4, GoW1/2, Fallout3, about 30 XBLA titles, and save files from about 100 games. I still have more then 9 GB left free on my 20 GB drive.
It seems the song packs and saving games to the hard drive are what kills people...

What pisses me off is that I recently installed a 120 gig hard drive on my recently bought 60 gig model 360(I sold the 60 gig hd). When I powered it on I only had 103 gigs of space remaining. I knew there would be factory installed stuff but 17 gigs of it? So now I need to delete a bunch of that stuff. I have been downloading demos lately but it's been very slow, taking hours at a time(yes I have high speed). I know you can download more than one thing at a time but it appears they have to wait for each to finish. I wish it could download 5 things simultaneously and be done within 20 minutes.
Back on topic, I don't ever plan to run out of space. I better not because this is as big as they go for 360. I still need to make playlist with my cds and get more game demos but ultimately I should be fine. As for the 20 gigs, it all depends on the variety of stuff you use your 360 for.
