Gamasutra has posted the second of nine bonus chapters not included in the book, Vintage Games: An Insider Look at the History of Grand Theft Auto, Super Mario, and the Most Influential Games of All Time (http://tinyurl.com/6dbno8), this time on Pinball Construction Set, entitled, "Pinball Construction Set: Launching Millions of Creative Possibilities". You can check it out here: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3923/the_history_of_the_pinball_.php
As always, you can read more about the book, which is available from retailers worldwide, here: http://www.armchairarcade.com/vintagegames
Comments are appreciated. Thanks!
so many classic games on computers like Apple ][, A8, C64, but most books only acknowlegde 80s consoles and Mario.
They ought to have a look at CGWs Hall of fame, pre 90s.

I built so many tables with BBPCS. I loved that you could also (at least with the C64) make actual executable discs of your tables, which could be passed around. A 300 baud modem, late working parents, and you amass tables :D
Dem's was da days...
Yes, those self-made tables are responsible for half the game entries on GB64.com (and BDCK)

Agreed. That's why this book looks at games across all platforms, be they mainframe, portable, arcade, console or personal computer, from the 50's to the present day. I even snuck in some images among the hundreds of games from some pretty obscure platforms, including the VIS.
If you go to the product page on Armchair Arcade, you can see the Table of Contents.
