I picked up Two Worlds from Goozex last week (only 400 points) and have played it for about 2 hours so far and it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I am an Oblivion Veteran having logged in about 200 hours and Two Worlds is not nearly as good. But it does have some redeeming qualities.
The world is colorful and feels alive.
There are plenty of side quests.
The armor, weapon and magic effects are pretty good.
The voice acting is so bad its good
I just wanted to put it out there, that if you are looking for a decent RPG for the 360, then I would say to give Two Worlds a try, its not as bad as you think.
Plus you can get it pretty cheap these days.

I bought it for the online play and it is a huge, epic, undeniable failure in that regard. When you weren't lagging out for no apparent reason, the enemies were losing their textures and you would find yourself being attacked by a white box. Trees and bushes were also prone to turning into white boxes. The lagouts were so bad that you had to constantly drop an item every two minutes so the game would autosave and you wouldn't lose your progress. It might be okay for single-player (never tried it myself), but the multiplayer was a bust.

I rented this, played it for about 3 hours, and promptly returned it. It is one of the most terrible, uninteresting games I have ever played.

With all the much better options on the 360 including The Elder Scrolls, there is literally no reason to spend a dime or a second of your life playing this game. It is bad, so bad it's funny for like five minutes and then you realize that you actually paid money for the game and now you have to store it somewhere or get rid of it as soon as possible. Seriously, it's one thing to defend a game that is actually good and others have overlooked, but there is no way this particular game should be recommended to others.

Alot of people were disappointed with it. I have not tried multiplayer, so I can't say how if those problems still exist. From what I understand the patches fixed some of the issues (but not all). The game did lock up once on me but thankfully it was right after I saved, so nothing was lost.
I still think it fills my need for running around ,killing stuff, making levels, getting better armor, etc... I think for the price, fills my need for an RPG.

I only played a couple hours myself, but have meant to go back to it. While there certainly are plenty of better games to play this one actually comes closest to Oblivion gameplay, well except Fallout 3, and maybe Gothic 3. I can see myself playing it but I am a sucker for fantasy games. There is an 'epic' edition that I am considering picking up for the PC. I know there was talk of many updates/patches in addition to the two downloadable expansions. Also I heard there was a potential sequel coming...

The first hour of the game is terrible. After that point you either fall in love with it, or absolutely hate it. I'm part of the group that fell in love with the game. Various bugs and shitty framerate aside, I was able to find an enjoyable game and play it for what it was. Really looking forward to Two Worlds: The Temptation, which as far as I know is supposed to ship later this year...
The main thing to remember, is not to expect Oblivion when you pop this game in, and that the first hour of the game is BRUTAL.
The online play was totally busted, but they did go in and patch it later on and made it far more stable. Not anywhere near perfect, but much better than what was available out of the gate. They also improved the framerate quite a bit in the single player. Anyone who's just playing the game now, try it without patching it and see what I mean...

I played through an early beta of the game a few months before it got released, found it to be pretty cool and thought that upon release it would be alot more polished. Boy was i wrong it was like they just said "nahh fuck it this is ready lets release it" some of the bugs had been fixed i could no longer get the horses to ride up vertical walls and you couldnt just keep refining a single potion to double its strength but thats about all that comes to mind. In the end a pretty fun little oblivion clone that just doesnt really shine in any way.

Good if you can enjoy it. My philosophy is this: Sure maybe a game isn't that bad. But there are so many incredible games out there and there's not enough time to play them all. So I try to avoid games that are simply "not bad."
Nothing wrong with you enjoying it though. At least someone is.

I really liked 2 worlds it just had the bad timing to get released around oblivion. The same way Timeshift was overshadowed. Way better than the reviews I think.

I loved this game and although I was disappointed with it initially, it got funner the longer I played through. It just isn't worth $60...and the online play wasn't anything to write home about, but my friends and I still enjoyed it for what it was.

I am now at level 11 and it took a while ot understand some of the controls like the map and other functions in the game. They could have done a better job with the controls - which can be confusing when you first start out.

i really liked the speach of the characters which was just over the top enough to fit into the so bad its entertaining category. That and everyone constantly saying mayhap which i had never really heard used before.

The first hour of the game is terrible.
You mention this twice, but don't expand on it. I'm curious - what's so bad about the first hour or so?

Well, the first hour was me realizing that the game was well below my expectations and I had to adjust them accordingly, coupled with that I couldn't figure out how to get out of the first area as quick as I'd like to and it began to leave a sour taste in my mouth. Once I got out of that area, my head around the controls and glitches, and started to do some quests and build my stash of weapons and gold, the game really opened up for me.
I guess when I say terrible I really mean compared to Oblivion, where you fight your way through a crappy sewer and come out to see this big beautiful world. Maybe I did go into it expecting better and that's why the first hour was tough for me to adjust. That's what I would call the "make or break" period, in which you are either hooked or turned off the game completely by then.

I read the title of this post and just had to read it, because I thought Two Worlds was one of the most god awful experiences I've ever had on my 360. Keep in mind I didn't even pay for the game, as I'm able to borrow games from work, so even for free it wasn't worth it. It definitely ranks up there with the worst, and was the first of many games from Southpeak that made me distrust them.
As for the "make or break" period mentioned in the above post, I definitely agree. I couldn't make it out of the first area either and after a half hour of trying I completely gave up on the game. Developers need to learn that the beginning of a game has to be just as engaging as the rest of it or players may never make it to the better portions.

Are there any "updates" (not DLC, but patches) for this game via XBL that address any of the issues from lauch? Iask becasue I see that they released a "Two Worlds: EPIC edition" for the PC that retails for $19.99 and was on sale at MicroCenter for $9.99 and thought that might be the better way to go as it includes a lot of added quests and I assume inlcudes the latest patch.
