Please recommend my next game PS2

So, I've been on a little bit of a dry spell as far as picking up games I think I'm going to enjoy and then not being able to get into them.
Let's start with games I really like:

God of War 1 & 2
RE4
Gran Turismo 3 & 4
Bauldurs Gate 1&2
Champions of Norath 1 &2
Shining Force 1 & 2 genesis
Vertical Shooters 2d genesis (are there good ones for ps2?)
Blood Omen; Legacy of Kain ps1

So recently I picked up Rygar as it looked like a possible reasonable GOW knock off, I played it for a while and was dissapointed. Can anyone recommend a game for ps2 that I should enjoy? Any help is appreciated!

GoW was actually a Rygar knockoff.

R-Type Final, Gradius V, and Raiden III are all fantastic shooters on the PS2.

You will probably love the X-Men Legends games, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, if you liked BG1 & 2, and Champions of Norath 1 & 2.

I was actually playing the xbox version the other day and didn't mind it. Then again, I like trivia games. I turned off the stupid shooting balls in cups minigame.

OP, do you like RPGs? If so, get Dragon Quest VIII and Final Fantasy XII. You'll be happy that you did.

Jak and Daxter is a pretty good game. Try to avoid its sequels though, since they aren't close to as good as the first one.

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, it's a fairly deep S-Rpg with a decent story and amusing characters.

Shadow of the Collossus. It may seem short, but it takes a LONG time. Not to mention upping the difficulty once you beat it? tough stuff.

I am more of a classic gamer, but I do like the Grand Theft Auto series.

You mentioned you like Grand Turismo (a driving game) and you also like various shooters. GTA has these elements, so it may be something you would enjoy.

MLB Power Pros...it's become my favorite baseball game. I have the first one and the sequel, MLB Power Pros 2008. I've not heard if another is coming this year, though.
