Ok, I was playing a CD in my Xbox 360, and it crashed on me, giving a flashing red light on the power button. However, upon loading up the Xbox, everything seems hunky dory. I continued to play my CD, only to have it happen again. Anyone else have this problem?

The first time I had a 360 red-ring on me, I was able to restart it and get it working again for a couple of days before the thing was inoperable.

Similar as above.
Glitched out a few times: no red ring.
Red ringed, worked again a little bit later.
Permanent red ring, sent in under warrantee, has been fine since.
When I sent mine in, it was very late in the red ring fiasco, so I am wondering if mine got a better fix than many that were swapped out earlier. I say that only because I have heard of a number of people having gone through two and three systems, but their issues began much earlier than mine.

RRoD can be caused by software glitches too. Sometimes the console just needs to be rebooted.

Ok, it happened when I was playing Rock Band 2. Three times in one night is no coincidence, I think my console is fucked. I bought it in October, I though they had those issues fixed... :(

The main cause of the RRoD is the sealant between the CPU and GPU melting (and separates the two components). Once the 360 is shut off (and cools off) the sealant between the CPU and GPU can solidify again and give you the illusion that everything is back to normal.
All three times I've experienced the RRoD, the 360 would "work" again after cooling off for awhile before becoming totally inoperable soon after.

Dude, just start the warranty claim now and save yourself the grief.

I had it on for 2 hours this afternoon, and no RROD. Hmm.

Whenever I turn mine on with my controller I get red rings, but if I turn it on on the system it powers up fine...it's done this for a couple of years now...it's a launch system.

That's probably from a bad dash upgrade. Fun Fact: there are 7 different ways to turn on a 360. Each one is logically different in the firmware.

This past week an update came down that was causing a lot of rrod issues.
