I have a Japanese 360 that I've been trying to trade for a PS3 for a while, but havent had much luck. Is there any way to change the region of a 360? Maybe with a new drive or something? I might have a better chance of finding someone to trade if I had a US 360, though as far as I've seen there isnt any way to change it even with a mod...

Theres actually someone on DP looking for a Jasper model Japanese 360. I forget who it is but once you can start posting in the "buying/selling" forum you will get some more interest.

You should be able to trade a JP 360 for a US PS3 pretty easily. Go to shmups.com -- plenty of people there looking.

You can not change the region of the 360. People have said there is a DVD mod for it, but I've not heard any success doing it.
Watch ebay, they come up from time to time.
I actually bought mine on play-asia, as you only need an arcade system. Still set me back almost 400 bucks with shipping.

Even if you flashed it(the term used in Xbox 360) it still on region lock and the bad news is that you can't play on Xbox Live because of this...
