I have a quick question. What was the original price on DQIV for DS when it first came out last year? I know it's $29.99 new now, but was it $39.99 originally?

Also, what was the original new price for DQM Joker?

Dragon Quest IV was $40, as is the norm with most Square-Enix games. I'm not sure about Joker, though.

originally $39.99, similar to world ends with you, both right at now at $29.99, takes about 6 months for $10 price drop.
you should spend $40 on DQV this month, it's fantastic.

The other fine folks are correct. It was forty upon release.

It's a good rule of thumb to assume any game released by Square on DS as a first party title is going to be forty bucks, even straight ports like Front Mission. The 'Square Enix' tax and all that. Exceptions are Taito releases like Legend of Kage 2 and Space Invaders Extreme.

But a DQ or FF game? Forty. Always.

I love Dragon Quest Monsters Joker. If you ask me, it's the best developed DS RPG I've played. Second best would be DQ4 which I'd call a port of the PSX title. Dragon Quest Monsters Joker was 39.99.

There might have been an error in their system, but when DQIV first came to Wal-Mart, it was $49.99! I'm sure they changed the price sometime after.
