Yeah I'm getting one from Joe. I've messed around with one before, and could have sworn someone told me the reason Nintendo altered the shape of their SNES cartridges was to prevent them from fitting the device. You know, the early style carts were fuller and more squarish at the bottom, and the newer ones are all recessed and curved in the middle.

Anyone know what it's really all about? I hope it doesn't really make it more difficult to fit in the Game Genie.

It should work fine with all carts except the "Special FX" type carts like Starfox, etc.

From what I understand, the reason Nintendo changed the style of the cartridge was because everyone was pulling the cartridge out without using the eject button, thus damaging the machine.

Heh, yeah, it had that plastic wing that would stick into the slot in the cartridge and hold it there while the power was on. I guess if you pulled hard enough... The original Gameboy had something like that, too. That's why all the original Gameboy cartridges have that notch cut out of the corner. The power switch would slide a little plastic piece over the top. I'd imagine that those got messed up a lot, too, because I think it was gone on the Gameboy Pocket, and definitely wasn't in the GBC.

Doesn't make any difference for Game Genie, it works on both kinds. On the older ones the flap at the front of the genie will snap in, on the newer ones it'll just flop loose but the game will still be connected.
