This evening I am looking for the instructions to a universal remote in a drawer and I come across a plastic sleeve with the instructions for the Sony stereo system I received for Christmas in 1994 (which I still have and use).

I'm having a devilish time finding the universal remote instructions so I think perhaps I tucked them in the plastic sleeve, too. In the plastic sleeve I find additional instructions for my old Panasonic VCR. Behind that, I find the instruction manual and "quick start" poster for my Super Nintendo, in mint condition! These are the instructions for my SNES that I bought on launch day in 1991 and still have.

I had no idea I still had this stuff! It's amazing what you can find while cleaning.

Same thing for me with a copy of Super Mario Bros. 3, I know it's somewhere in my basement, but I can't find it.

I had the same, when cleaning I found instructions for VCRs, also in plastic sleeves. One was for a JVC VCR i purchased in 1984 in Germany, which could not only play NTSC, but also record NTSC, which was very rare for 1984. That was my most expensive VCR ever costing approx DM 3000 at the time.

I found all of my game manuals from my childhood (20 or 30 of them) all stashed in some basement shelf I was cleaning after a decade. I was pretty happy.

The other day, I was cleaning up an "unused" upstairs bedroom, and I found 2 2600's, Space Invaders, the box for Populous for SNES, the Ascii pad box for SNES, and a quick connect fold out poster for the NES.
Pretty cool haul I'd say.

Thank you for letting us all know that you haven't "cleaned your drawers" in almost 15 years.:o

One time I was cleaning my room and found the floor. And it turned out that the fuzzy stuff was carpet and not some science fair project gone bad.

Thank you, thank you. I will be here all week, and remember, there is a 2 drink minimum.

Yes, nothing like finding long lost goodies while hunting through your collection. Sometimes I find manuals, cables or games I didn't know I had while digging through drawers.

I was so happy when I found my N64 box from my launch N64. I wasn't sure if I had kept it or not. Probably wouldn't be hard to get another, but I have sentimentality attached to that particular one.

For the last few months, I've been going nuts, though, because one of my Star Ocean 3 figures has gone missing. If somebody threw it out, I swear I'll kill them. o_O They're from Japan, and they're virtually impossible to find these days, which seems to be the case with most Japanese figures. If you don't nab 'em while they're new, you'll never get another chance, short of possibly getting Hong Kong bootlegs.

Nah, that's too easy.

He probably finds preserved body parts of Gunpei Yokoi.

I can beat that. One time I was cleaning my game room and I found a Joe Santulli in an unused corner.

Also, it is really a "haul" when it's just stuff you found in your own house? I'd ask Joe, but he escaped last week.

When I was searching "my drawers" recently, I found an old joystick. I hear it may work again with a little love and care. A few people have told me if I get the right person to blow on it, it may show signs of life. Others have told me to keep moving it around to try and get a response.

I have a two drink maximum...as the hecklers seem to come out in force after that.

The last gaming item I found while cleaning was the Super NES mouse pad that came with Mario Paint. I hadn't seen it for years and thought that it was accidentally given or thrown away. Needless to say, I'm glad it wasn't. :)

I actually found a real dead body while cleaning my room looking for memory cards. But I didn't need it at the moment so I just shoved it back in my closet.

these are good posts.

I recently unearthed my factory sealed Sega Saturn Net Link Game Pack that I got at Toys R Us for a penny years and years ago.

my mom brought over an old box of star wars toys from my parents attic... what else was inside? the boxes and instructions for a bunch of games, particularly metroid II for game boy, my most memorable childhood game.

I kept all the games I had when i was a kid. Once I started collecting ten years later, I had always wished I kept the boxes. Then they just showed up one day. I never knew I could have such nostalgia for some printed paper and cardboard. I was a smart kid for keeping that crap.

I really should go over to my mom's house and look for my SNES box. Bet its there too.

No, it means I slid the SNES stuff in that particular plastic sleeve long ago and haven't looked in it since. From the outside, it looks like just the Sony stereo instructions. The sleeve itself has moved with me several times over the years.
