HELP!! GBA Sega Arcade Gallery... After Burner

Hello,

I have the newly released Sega Arcade Gallery for the Gameboy Advance and love it. I'm having a blast with Outrun, Space Harrier and Super Hang-On.

However, I am having trouble with the controls of After Burner. In the arcade you had a speed lever for regular speed and afterburner. According to the GBA manual, it says use the R button to use the after burner. However, when I try it nothing seems to happen - no changes in speed. I thought that I would have to hold it down, but nothing. Then I thought that maybe I needed to tap it once, like changing gears in OutRun to activate it, but I still do not notice a difference in speed. I also thought that perhaps the manual was wrong, and tried other button combinations...

Can anyone help (sigh)

IS the quality good on this one? I bought the Smash Pack striclty for Golden Axe and was severly disappointed. The graphics were choppy and the sound was horrible. And when you killed the final guy, it completely left out the axe spinning in the air and hitting him in the chest. It was like they took 5 minutes to port the damn thing. I paid $10 and still felt ripped off.

I do know what you're talking about. I was playing this cart just the other day, and I couldn't figure out the throttle to save my life. Sorry I can't help out.

I'm glad you like the cart; I absolutely hated it. I couldn't believe how horribly low-res everything is, especially Hang-On and Outrun. It just look horrible -- why, oh why? There are some really good compilations on the GBA. Ugh! Ah, well, if it works for you, coolbeans.
