I need to know if tempest x3 for ps1 is compatible with the ps3, if anyone knows for sure please let me know, it would be appreciated very much. Thanks.

All PlayStation 1 games are compatable with ALL model PS3's (well games for that region, so US games for US system, Japanese games for Japanese system ect).
It's PS2 games that you have to worry about.

PS3s have the best PS1 emulation that I've seen.
FAR superior to the PS1 emulation in the PS2.
Not sure if there's a compatiblity list out there ... but I'd venture to guess that you're looking at about 90% compatiblity if not higher. (Probably higher!)
