I have only gotten a chance to play Sega GT 2002 for the Xbox and I was wondering how Gran Turismo 3 compares to it? Does it stack up? Or is it even better than Sega GT?
I'm hoping to pick up a PS2 finally sometime soon and GT3 will be one of my first must haves. And then of course GT4 when it comes out this fall... :D

I never played Sega GT 2002, but GT3 really kicked my ass. I played the crap outta the original Gran Tourismo, never touched 2, then played the crap outta GT3. I probably won't touch GT4 though... burnt out.
All in all, if you enjoy Racing SIMS (not arcade racers), it's more than worth the $20 it now costs.

As excellent as Sega GT 2002 is, Gran Turismo 3 is just that much better!
Sorry Sega! Maybe next time!

I love GT3, but there is no damage to the cars! How realistic is it when I can make bouncing off a rail or car part of a winning strategy?
Does SEGA GT have damage?

Sega GT has a damage meter, but still no actual damage on the cars. And, on a personal note, I love Sega GT. The licesnse tests in GT are infuruating and stupid. I just want to race. I hate forced tutorials in any game and that's exactly what you get with GT.

GT3 is better overall but I think Sega GT is better to just pick up and play.

I kinda like the damage in GT 2002. No it doesnt show on the car but they have other cool stuff that happens. Like parts breaking in the middle of a race. Its always fun to be on the last lap and have your turbo blow out and smoke start pouring out of the car. Thats sweet stuff. Then you have to buy another one too!
So I take it GT3 you can just buy and buy and not have to worry about breaking? You don't lose money at the end of a race to repair your cars damage?

Gran turismo 3 a-spec is ten times more better then sega gt 2002.Plus in gran turismo 3, you can actually controll the car's steering unlike in sega gt where it's impossible to turn the car around a corner.

I can listen to Static-X blasting through my TV speakers while playing Sega GT...I like that :)
Both are good games, I think Sega GT is better for "casual race sim" players...GT3 if you want the whole enchilada...
