While I was cleaning up my parents' estate, I found my old Adventure Vision by Entex game in the closet. The box is pretty beaten up, but the game is in good shape. I plugged it in and it works fine. The only problem that I can see is that joystick is sometimes a little slow to respond. I have the Defender, Super Cobra, and Space Force cartridges. It seems like the game is highly sought after, but I'm not sure of the value. If I decided to sell it, can anyone give me an idea what what it is worth? Is Ebay my best bet? Thanks for your help.

I'll give you $15 for all of it. LOL

Yeah, eBay is your best option.

Jesus, in the box and working? $500 would be the absolute low end. I'd say $1000 if not more.

Show us some pictures so we can evaluate it better. The "beat up" box might not be that beat up for a system like this. On top of that, we like pictures of rare game products:)

I'm guessing this is a gag post, right? First post and the guy claims to have one of the rarest systems boxed? Who calls a house an "estate" anyway?

Maybe his parents passed and he was going through their belongings.

Anyway, I agree with you about the gag post part. Of course, I would love to see pictures and be proven wrong!

Inheritance

In the context of probate, the estate of a deceased person consists of all the property, whether real or personal, owned by the person at the time of death. (source (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estate_(law)))

This is the first time I've seen someone -not get- this particular meaning of the word. :p

The problem is it was not used in that context. He used it in reference to a specific location where some of his items were being stored. People ordinarily don't say things like I was "cleaning up my parents' estate". You might say I am handling my parents' estate or I am the executor of an estate, but not that you are cleaning it up and probably not "parents'" if it was in probate unless there was some freak accident and both parents are deceased. I'm not saying this can't be a legit post, but over at KLOV, people do this kind of thing all the time to get people going and it has spread to lots of fake listings on Craigslist, complete with photos. It's not fraud per se, just a really annoying form of pranking of other collectors.

Okay, here you go. You can see the box is in pretty bad shape. When I said I was cleaning up my parents' estate, I meant that my father had passed away recently and I was cleaning up the house. I had been given it when I was in high school and had forgotten about the game. Sorry for any confusion there.

I really didn't know that this game was so rare, so any information you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks again.

Well, you have three of the four games released for it and a pretty decent looking box (for an Adventurevision), you could get a lot for it if you wanted to.

Does the box have like all the inserts/manuals?

I have the Adventure Vision manual and the Defender manual only.

I thought I saw one on E-bay that sold for $3,000.

However, I found another listing here:

Wow lucky, especially since it looks to be in good shape. I'd like to get one of these someday, but they are way too expensive for me to afford.

It was re-listed and sold for about 1000. I'm guessing the box and games add a lot to the price of this set, though.

I had no idea the Virtual Boy existed in 1982:

:)

EDIT: Evidently, you can get an AV mod for your Adventure Vision:

I never realized, it really is like the Virtual Boy, only 13 years earlier.

Maybe they should try the whole spinning mirror and rows of LEDs thing again, but this time in color.
