I saw this ad on CL. The guy wants $25 for everything.
The atari lynx is broken, guy says he shorted it out by using an adaptor with too much voltage, so I assume its just a broken cap or something.
And he will drop it off at my house.

Seems like it's a good deal?

Im selling an Atari Lynx portable game system with 7 games including the original box and manual along with carrying case and poster. It worked fine till i stored it now i cant get it to turn on. Looking to clean my closet out so make me an offer. All games work fine but the system may need work. If interested call NUMBER DELETED. Thanks

The pics he gave with it are:

Doesn't seem like a bad deal if you want the games. As long as the guy knows it needs a game in it to turn then it is broken. If he tried turning it on without a cart inside it won't turn on, making him think it's busted.

Oh, hopefully the guy doesn't know. :D He said he tried testing it, and the power light went on for a second, then turned off, and after that he couldn't get it to turn on.
I don't know much about lynx, and was hoping for resale value, but I'll buy it anyways. Maybe it's fixable.

Yeah I'm not sure if the power would come like that when using an AC adapter but I know with batteries nothing happens unless you have a game cart inside.

I've got a small Lynx collection that I sort of fell into, so I don't really know prices, but that is almost definitely worth it. I'd guess that the games on top are loose ones and the boxes also have games in them. Heck, Joust is listed as $15 in the DP guide.

If I were you, I'd pick that up just for the games alone. If you can get the Lynx working, all the better!

Alright, he's gonna drop it off at my house in a couple hours. :D
From games I can see in the picture, cali games goes for 10 on ebay, joust and steel talons go for a couple bucks each and broken lynxes go for around 5 bucks, there's almost all of my money back. :D
I'm sure I can get more than that with all the other games I can't see the titles of.

Picked this up, and it works the first time I put a game in. :D
I'll give you guys a list of what it came with in the finds thread.

Had a feeling that was gonna happen! Good stuff man. The same thing also happens with Atari Jaguars. People think they are broken but they just try to power it up without a game in.
