Hey everyone, I wanted to see how many of us are daddy gamers that play online after the mommy and baby go to bed. I personally get to go LIVE after 10 or so, and most of my friends are single that love to spend like 4+ hours doing it up online...if your a dad you know that's tough.
If there are any other LIVE players out there, trying to just relax and play online (not 1000 hours a week like most) show your gamertag! Post your most played games as well. Let's see if we can get a good group of like minded peeps that can relate just a bit more than the 16 year old shouting at the top of his lungs in Burnout Paradise because you gotta go check on the baby. :p
I'm not discriminating PSN people either, put em up! I just said LIVE because that's what I got.
Gamertag: WGMeets
Most Played: Anything I got now really, new to 360.

Nice post. I actually was wondering the same thing earlier today. In my case, I have a 15 month old and can play after 9 or 10, whenever the baby is asleep. I was actually looking on Craigslist for gamers under the community tab to see if their were any gamers or groups in my area that meet and game. Dont get me wrong, I love to play online, but sometimes its nice to get out of the house and get some fresh air with new faces.
As for this thread... I have both 360 and PS3. I unfortunately let my LIVE account run out due to playing on the PSN all the time. I play about everything. From FPS, to racing, to burnout... everything. Im all across the board. My PSN ID is Titanzguard.
Currently I have been playing burnout and COD5 a lot.

Late night daddy gamer, yes.
Not really a live player, though. I haven't touched my xbox for a while. On a PC & DS binge at the moment. When I do play 360 it's for a few RPG's (Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey) or card/board games (Culdcept Saga, Caracassonne, Catan).

I'm not a dad (don't even have a GF at the moment) but you guys might wanna check out The Older Gamers. They have a forum where you can hook up and play with fellow people that actually have responsibilities.

Count me in. The OP described my situation to a "T". My friends call me all the time to play around 7pm or so, but I've got baths to give, dishes, laundry, etc... I'm currently playing Left 4 Dead and Civilization but I'm planning on picking up SFIV sometime this week.

Hello!
I am a the father gamer in a family of game players!
Indeed I do find more time in the night to play and concentrate on games playing. I have a soon to be 2 year old daughter who always wants to mess around with my arcade stick when I am playing LOL I have been trying to play DDPDOJBLEX this weekend and after a few plays she has to "play" for a few minutes.
Anyhow, if there is interest to add me, my gamer tag is:
Xbox 360: Sonic R 0 (thats the number zero at the end)
PS3: SONICr
I seldom play PS3 right now and I don't have much for multiplayer on 360. I'd like to play some R-Type Dimensions though and I also have SFII HD remix and hope to get SFIV soon but I'm a low level player in fight games :embarrassed:
Friends!
I'm the daddy of a 2 year-old, and my wife goes to bed almost as soon as he does ... I usually stay up and game (or watch action movies) for a couple of hours starting around 10.
My XBL titles are mainly Burnout Paradise, APF 2K8, SCIV, Gears 2, CoD4, and Halo 3, plus a lot of obscure XBLA titles no one plays any longer.
My GamerTag is GM80 if you want to add me – just mention DP in the message.

Well, I'm not a daddy gamer, not even 18 yet, but I'm not an asshole on live.
Haven't played in a couple months because of my fucked up router, but once I get the cash for another I'll play with you guys.
If you want add me, my gt is darkslime.
I played halo 3 and cod 4.
Well, I'm a daddy of two cats and I play VCS games, but usually I'm online till 4:00AM as all my friends I chat to are in the USA and I am based in Europe.

While I am not a daddy (yet), I am a husband who does sometimes play after my wife has gone to bed and I can't sleep. I mostly play gears 2 atm, but I'm open to suggestions. Tag in the sig.

Wooho there are more of us here! This is too awesome. drewbrim, I hear ya buddy. I will add the rest of you when I get home today. There was a time that I was surrounded by people that played games, but none had kids, and it was a bit difficult for them to understand the whole kid thing.

Feel free to add me:

I'm a father of 10 month old and my wife is a nightshift RN...so 95% of my gaming is after 9pm (central). I'm usually on XBL playing Battlefield: Bad Company. I'll be picking up Halo Wars and Resident Evil 5 when they come out, so if anyone plans on playing those games, send me an invite.

I might also be picking up Halo Wars. Is Bad Company any good?

Bad Company is my favorite shooter on XBL. Simply put. Halo 3 is good, COD4 is great, but BF:BC is the best. Of course I'm a long time Battlefield frachise fan, so I'm a bit biased. I prefer the classic online FPS "Battlefield formula" (i.e. vehicles, large open-world maps, 5 distinct classes, perfect gaming balance) over COD or Halo any day. BC is $20 at most stores right now, so you don't have much to loose.
...but if BF:BC isn't everyone's style that's fine. I'll definitely be playing Halo Wars and RE5 in the next few weeks if anyone's interested.

I am also a late night "Daddy Gamer", I have to be it is almost impossible to play during the day with my 3 year old who loves to hit buttons and will steal the controller out of my hand. So I have to play at night. Use to be on xbox live but PSN is free so I am on that now.

I was up until January 7th my house was broke into and they took all of my new systems. Now I am a late night classic gamer.
Its funny because they took all the stuff that would be easy to replace, and left all of the classic systems alone. SO right now I am thinking of not replacing the new systems and just playing all of my older stuff. Since we had our daughter in august my playing time has really been reduced, so my older systems like TG-16 an colecovision really fit into my new video game schedule.

Damn that blows Hep! Hope everything is ok. Hey Howie, my 2 yr old does the "you wanna play daddy?" thing. He will grab some 360 game and go, "Hey daddy you wanna play this one, 360? Yeah daddy?". Everytime I say no, he goes "awww daddy game bad, too bad" to the one he had and grabs another one and starts asking again haha. He looooooves to at least hold the controller, mommy doesn't find it too cute tho :p

Hehe I find it too cute when they do something like that. Yeah everytime I'm playing and its some M game in the afternoon, then wakes up from his nap. All of a sudden while I'm plowing thru people and streetlights in GTA I hear, Oh daddy you play 360 (sounds more like weesiixti)!!

Wow. Thats awesome. I cant wait til my son is asking me to play games and bringing them to me. I have a 15 month old and he likes to play with the cases and hold them. I also took a broken PS2 controller and cut the cord off the end. He likes to sit on the floor with the controller in his hands in front of the TV acting like he is playing. It is so awesome.

Haha I love when my kid does that! He loves watching me play DS, but he tries to put his face right in front of the screen so I can't see anything! When he first started paying attention it was Burnout 3 - "Daddy, play crashing cars! Crashing cars!" He's started playing a handful of 3+ DS games (Smart Boys is great) and plays Wii Fit, Mario Party 8, and sometimes Super Paper Mario. Just got him Elebits for Wii and DS both, he likes the DS one better - Wii gets pretty difficult quickly, although he loves just throwing stuff around.

I, myself, am a dad gamer of two (three this year), and my wife and I both game when the kids go to bed. My whole family is full of gamers (we get out and do other stuff too) but when its a rainy day we play board games or video games...my wife even posts under the Makaar name too...but she's usually a DS/SNES/N64 fan. She stays up just as late as me...its hard to sleep these days...!

I'm a fellow daddy gamer!
It makes a game like "Fallout 3" (which I'm barely into) take forever to beat, as I my games sessions are usually at most 2 hours a pop, and typically only once or twice a week. But I always feel I got my money out of 'em :)

Count me in, Dad of two, and sometimes I can get on earlier in the evening (depending on whats going on at home, and what game I want to play) but I usually only play M rated games later after the kids are in bed.
Play the Viva Pinata and Lego games with my son while he's awake, then my games later on.

I played through Dragon Quest Swords recently, and it was great because I could hold the baby with one hand and play the game with the other. One-handed, wiimote gaming FTW! I don't play much of anything online right now, and since the baby's still little I'm trying to actually sleep at night when I can.

That's hilarious...I did the exact same thing this past August. One-handed gaming indeed.

For me it was Neverwinter Nights just under 5 years ago. On a laptop playing with my right hand, while in my left I had my son.
If you're up at 3am, might as well enjoy yourself, right?

Enjoy all the sleep you can get, man. I have two little one and anytime I can sleep even it is 10 minutes I take it. Anyone else find that when the little ones play a game and they ask you to help that you end up taking over thier game because they refuse to take the controller back(because it is to hard).

I'm a late night daddy gamer as well but I don't play on live. I mostly try to get some stuff done in WOW. My 5 year old has been known to walk into the office at 1am and sit on my knee for a bit while a play. That's usually my signal to get to bed.
