As in the title. I was really excited to try out GG Aleste II on real hardware finally, but I couldn't see a thing, oh no!
Random question as I'm eternally hopeful: Has anybody made progress on coming up with a replacement for the screen, or found a diagram yet?

I'm building cap kits to sell on my site and will be doing one for the GG system.
Right now I have all the caps figured out for the main board but still need to do the sound/power boards. It takes time to measure the dimensions of these caps and find the smallest ones in the parts catalogs.
The screen isn't usually a problem. It's that silly heat seal tape connection between the board and the screen that is the b*tch to deal with. THAT is what a replacement is needed for. The screen is generally only a problem if you have a physically broken one.
Now the backlight is a different animal altogether. To top it off there are 2 THERMAL fuses next to the backlight. If those go out they aren't too hard to replace as long as you have a couple of hemostat's handy. Clamp them on the fuse between the body of the fuse and where you are soldering to keep the heat from the soldering iron away from the fuse. If you don't then as you solder the replacements in you will cause them to open up and fail thanks to the heat generated by the soldering process.

Cool. Still *need* a tv-modded GG, though; even if this screen is fixed up it'll do terribly for GG Aleste 2 / Power Strike II.

Also: Excuse the silly question, but when you say you're putting together cap kits - is that for purchase and user installation, or would you offer that service?

Initially for user purchase & installation.
I'll have to see how long it takes to install the cap kit. I charge $35 plus shipping to do audio cap kits on Neo Geo boards.
