I just picked up a Genny 3 and would like to do a bit of modding on it. I'm thinking the S-Video mod, a region mod, and a stereo mod. The first two seem easy and well documented. The third seems to be a mystery. Can anyone point me in the direction of a documented stereo mod for the Genesis 3?

Any other advice on modding this little guy would be appreciated. I've done the S-video mod on the Genesis 1, modded an Atari 2600 for S-video and stereo, region 'fixed' a Saturn, etc. I'm not shy around a soldering iron.

Thanks!

The Genesis 3 has stereophonic output. No need for a mod.

Hrm... There seems to be some mixed information about that, then. I know that the A/V cable that came with it only has the left channel. I did order a cable with both channels off of ebay, so I guess I'll find out when it shows up. Seems to be some information on here showing that it's only mono, though, and I've seen references to stereo mods, which would lead one to believe that the default is mono if people are modding it for stereo...

from what i know some revisions of genny 3 have stereo, some have mono. the ones that output mono can be modded to do stereo though

Hrm, yeah. I guess that explains the mixed messages about whether it supports stereo or not. I guess I'll wait for the stereo cable to show up and cross that bridge when I get to it.

I know for a fact that one of mine only outputs mono, even with the stereo cable attached, and my other outputs stereo. Hopefully you'll get lucky and it'll be a stereo one.
