I just got a 3DO off ebay. I looked in great shape until I plugged it in. The 3DO image briefly appeared then disappeared, also the drive would not open. I opened it up (with little effort at all) and the ribbons were out of the socket. I placed them and the drive worked. Thinking I fixed it, i put in a game and the laser gets into place, but the CD does not spin. Even if I have a CD in it goes to the blue screen and tells me to put in a CD.

Also, I am getting no sound. Is there suppose to be sound at the start up screen or on the screen saver? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm that sounds like a whole slew of problems! I'm guessing this is either the goldstar model or a panasonic fz-1? Just basing that on the fact that the cd tray was stuck and well theres no cd tray to slide out on the fz-10.

Indeed...The ones that I've seen the most with tray problems are definitely the GoldStars....Although, I remember doing a mod on mine years ago, that permanently fixed that issue...Can't really think of it atm...

Just to clarify though, at least on my FZ-10, there is no sound in the startup screens or screen saver.

it is the fz-1 model. I saw that the fan may cause this problem on doing some research but i opened it up and the fan seems to be working fine. I don't know what it is doing :\
