the new Genesis collection disk got me thinking. I wonder why (or if they ever will) Nintendo never release a collection of their Arcade games?

I would love to play the actuall arcade versions of donkey kong, donkey kong jr, excitebike, and a mario world game i remember in the arcades in the late 80's.
Nintendo always seems to be stuck on rereleasing the NES verions of these games, which dose not intrest me. I want the actual arcade verions with all the old school sound and play.
comeon nintendo, relax with the cooking mama and give us some history.

Really? You think Nintendo doesn't rely on their history enough? Not sure I agree with that, but I see where you're coming from.

I can't imagine Nintendo would ever release a disc that would compromise the sales of the VC games. I know SNK Playmore did it, but I just don't see Nintendo going with the same strategy. I don't see the arcade versions of those games coming out unless Nintendo put an arcade section on the VC - in that case I'm sure they'd be happy to double-dip.

I know Nintendo had other arcade games that could go on a comp, but there probably isn't enough interest in those to make it worth their while. The only Nintendo arcade games I'd love to try are the Punch-Out arcade games.

If they ever do something like that it will be through Virtual Console, but Nintendo seems to be neglecting it. Go Go MAME!
