I've written a few articles (mostly about the NES) on my blog and I'd like to know what you guys think of 'em. It's a lot of fun for me to write this stuff and look back at my childhood.

I just skimmed through some of it, seems pretty interesting. I have legends of the diamond but havent played it yet. I really enjoyed rbi baseball on nes. Interesting to hear about your experience with duck hut/ mario bros. That was the first game I played as well. I just got my nes this summer. Duck Hunt was great fun for awhile but does get a little repetitive. What was funny was that my parents actually played it and liked it. They never have played video games before. Shows that nintendo did a good job making games back then haha.

Bookmarked.

Looking forward to part 2 of your Bump N Jump review. I spent a lot of time with that game as a kid and it remains in my regular NES rotation to this day.

I have to disagree about SMB2. It's a great game that was fun when it first came out and still awesome now. I have been playing through the real SMB2 on the Wii and I forgot what a challenge those boards are!

I think SMB2 was such a long departure from the original SMB. Everyone knows now that it was meant to be Doki Doki Panic! rather than the real SMB2. I think we should've just gotten what the Japanese SMB2 is. I don't like having to throw vegetables at guys to kill them. I prefer bloody head-stomping action!

But anyway. Thanks for the comments, guys. In my next article I'll probably branch out and talk about some other systems besides the NES.

SMB 2 was (is) actually not a very good game, not to mention way too hard. It also looked exactly the same as SMB, and by 1988 gamers were expecting games with better graphics. It would have been disastrous for Nintendo to release it.

As an aside, did you know SMB3 was released in Japan the same year SMB2 was in the US?

EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to the next installment of your Bump N Jump review too!
