I was wondering how many Gamecube variants there are? I know of:
Purple
Black
Platinum
Orange
White

I think you have all the licenced colours (England FTW). Technically, the orange one is called 'Spice', and it's a shame it never got released in the UK. The UK Pearl White is also much easier to find than the very limited Japanese version.
Oh, and then there's also the Panasonic Q which is awesome. And shiny.
Edit: There were limited versions with different jewels on the top iirc, but these still used standard colour consoles.

US for sure was:
Purple
Black
Silver
Japan had a few nifty colors, including red (Gundam), the tiger baseball team stripped one, the teal (tales of???) one, I think a white one, and a few others.

Oh yes, forgot about some of those Japanese ones. The red Char Aznable GC is very cool. There's also a matching SP.

I'd never seen the mint green Tales of Symphonia GC before. Isn't there a Hanshin Tigers edition of every Japanese console ever? There's a 'Starlight Gold' edition which I believe was a Toys R US exclusive.
As for development hardware, I've seen brown debug units, green NR Disc Readers and the incredibly cool red NPDP Readers for using NPDP cartridges.

Indeed. Nintendo usually stick to green and red for their development hardware. No idea where they got that lovely poo-brown colour from, but I've only seen the one.
