View Full Version : Some Mame 0.69 CD Sets for sale...

Over the weekend I had someone email me requesting 3 sets of Mame v0.69 romset cds. He said he wanted one for himself and two others for his roommate and friend. So, me like a fool went and used 36 cd-r discs and painstakingly burned everything for him without getting a payment first. Now he has backed out, so I have three sets for sale. Each set consists of twelve 80 minute cd-rs filled with every rom to the latest version of Mame v0.69, CHD Hard disk images (two missing however), and artwork, samples, etc etc. Also included are other arcade roms such as the Zinc stuff and Namco System 22 stuff. Each set is $25 shipped. Paypal preferred. Anyone interested, PM me.

All have been sold now! I can make cd's for others if you request it, but I must get payment first....making all of these cd's is a real pain in the ass :)

Yeah... just got that freakin' awesome CustomArcade from Ron, and set up mame on a dedicated machine with 21" monitor. Not sure I'll have enough time to play them to really justify $25 on freely available roms, though...

Wow, that sounds great. You can always find time for a game or two :) Yeah, they are freely available, but most people don't have the time or the energy to download the 7.09GB that is the set. And it's kind of good to have them backed up on cd as well...just in case :)

That is definitely true. If I weren't already spending too much on games as it is I'd be all over it.

I seem to recall a bit of hullabaloo about selling rom discs, but I don't see any problem with it. It's like having water in your house. Yeah, water's free, and I can go to my nearest freshwater spring and get it free, but it's so much easier to just pay someone to pump it right to my house.

Yeah, I'm just basically doing it as a favor for people...so they can try out all the greatness that is Mame. I am not selling rom discs per se, but 12 Cd-Rs, my time to burn them (takes awhile to burn 12 80 minute cd-rs on my 12X burner...about 8 minutes a cd) and shipping charge. $25 for all that alone is not that bad I think...

I don't disagree with the price. I'm not sure I have enough time to play to justify spending the cash on it, though.

Well, if this sort of thing catches on, and nobody complains about the whole legality of the situation, I'd be happy to burn the .69 romset and all the .chd files on a few dvds and send them out.

Well, I'm not really looking into it "catching on", as I am not a store or what have you. Just helping a few folks out in aquiring the sets a little easier. The DVD idea is a cool one tho. Someday I will get a DVD burner and back up all of my roms. Everything I have would take only 6 or so DVDs!
