How much did you pay for that? It's worth a lot. SSV is about $300 by itself.

I think it's Samurai Shodown V *Special*. Which is worth more than that. AND - if its the unfixed version, even more still. Is there a small blue and yellow Neogeo sticker on the cartridge?

Anyway, here is what these games are worth, give or take:

King of Fighters 94 CIB Japan Spine - $20
King of Fighters 02 CIB Japan Spine - $80-$90
SVC Chaos SNK vs Capcom CIB English Spine - $125-$150
King of Fighters 2 CIB Japan Spine - this is probably Fatal Fury 2 - $10
Riding Hero CIB English Spine - $20
Samurai Shodown Special V CIB English Spine - who knows, last one on ebay was $550 or so
Fatal Fury CIB English Spine - $20
Magician Lord CIB English Spine - $20
Crossed Swords CIB English Spine - $30
Nam 1975 missing Manual English Spine - $10
Samurai Spirits 2 CIB Japan Spine - $20
Samurai Spirits missing manual Japan Spine - $10
Real Battle Action Game Japan Spine It looks like a Japan Street Fighter CIB - probably Fatal Fury - $10
Football Frenzy just the Cart - $5

I have seen the lot in person. Everything is in good shape. Corey is graciously working out a deal with me that will be mutually benifical for some of the items. I want to make sure that he gets a fair price. There is a small Neo Geo Sticker on the SSV Special cart. What does that mean? Does that affect price?

It's a cart reprogrammed by SNK Playmore. It does lower the price a little.

That means the cartridge was sent back to SNK Playmore after release, who then cracked it open, replaced a couple of the ROMs to add back the fatalities and fix some bugs. They then stuck the little sticker on the cart to designate the fix. However, just after everyone had sent in their minty fresh carts to be reprogrammed, the UNIBIOS guys cracked the original ROM code and unlocked the full fatalities on the unfixed version. Hence why that version is more desirable, aside from it being much less common than the fixed/reprogrammed version, which is pretty rare to begin with.

Just part of a pretty long story associated with the AES release of Samurai Shodown V Special. Kind of a special game in its own right, pardon the pun. It was the final Neo Geo title released. The manual of the AES cart has a big thank you from SNK to the fans at the end. Believe me, reading something like that counts for something after shelling out $300+ for each new Neo AES release. Also, this game was only released on MVS in Japan and in very limited quantities. Even the MVS cart is quite pricey these days.

Little known fact - video exists of Samurai Shodown V Special FINAL EDITION being demo'ed in Japan. However, this cartridge was never released and the game's whereabouts are unknown.

Did I mention that the game is really fun? $200 for that lot was an epic score. Enjoy!

Thank you. At first I was going to sell the stuff and part it out. Though this is a rare opportunity to have a NEO GEO. I think I am going to sell a few of the games though I am going to keep the rest and play them. When I told a few people what I had they were like dude....when can I play the epic system.

The game isn't Fatal Fury 2, its Art of Fighting 2.
Real Action Special is Fatal Fury Special

Me and Corey have worked out a mutual deal that is fair. Dang, I forgot how much I love the KOF series. It is interesting to put in KOF 94 and then play KOF 02. Acquiring Sam Sho V Special is a special treat for me. I thought that I would never own it, let alone from a score that was found in the wild. Of the last 20 years of collecting, I have only came across two Neo Geos in the wild. One I own, and the other a friend bought.

I had another question. The serial number on the system is pretty low...in the 6,000's. Is that bad or good? I do believe it is a US system. Thanks, John

The first 90,000 or so AES systems have better RGB output than composite output. Later systems were the opposite.

Awesome, Corey!

I saw that posted on Monday and really wanted to pick it up. Glad to see a DPer got it and the deal was as good as it sounded. Seattle Craigslist is usually pretty awful (at least when I look.) It was exciting to see something this awesome on it.

Thanks to Swlovinist....John....All I have to say about this as a final note. Second NEO GEO system I've found in the wild...this year...I found a NEO GEO Pocket boxed last month.

I am thanking you for the deal that we worked out for this(and all the other crazy stuff you have found me!)

To this score, I now have 23 AES carts, and finally some uncommon ones. It is DPers like Corey that help fellow collectors like myself at a fair price. For that, I thank you a ton!

Nice score. I have been wanting to get into Neo Geo collecting for years but I could never realistically afford it. I've always wanted to find a deal like you did but I doubt it will ever happen. Congrats.
