TG 16 price question

i have a chance to purchase a TG 16 system with one controller and hookups for $50 not including shipping. i'm just curious if this is a decent deal. i haven't seen too many TG 16's on ebay or amazon any cheaper, but what do you guys think? should i wait and see what if i could get one cheaper?

No, I do not think that is a good deal. A quick look on ebay shows several auctions that ended at $50 or less, including shipping and at least a game. Those are auctions, not BIN. If you are looking only at BIN, then $50 isn't unreasonable. If I were you, though, I'd wait for another auction to come along and/or make a WTB thread here. Or better yet, buy mine! (see below)

Several months ago I picked one up with a game for $20 locally, and at that time it barely seemed worth re-selling (if I'd wanted to), based on my brief eBay search. Prices actually seem a little higher now, but I'd still definitely sell mine (which is now an extra and I do need to sell it sooner or later) for $50 shipped, probably less. I haven't really tried to price it yet, though, so I can't say for sure.

I'd hold out for one with a couple of common games first, although if you already have a few games to start with 50$ shipped is a fair price (i'd go with monkeyboy since you can be sure his will work and be in great shape)

I think I sold one for $35 with one common game about a year ago. I wouldn't pay $50, but I don't see them as much as I used too.

It's not that great of a deal, though I don't consider it a complete ripoff. I wouldn't buy one for that price myself, but I guess it depends on your area too. They don't really turn up too often, but I've found bundles on my local craigslist with several games for just a bit more than that. I just got lucky though.

i appreciate all of your honest feedback. i will probably hold out a little while i guess. i never see TG 16's in my particular area (close to Raleigh,NC) if your familiar. anyway, the only time i did see one locally was at a flea market about a year ago that was just the system and no games for 79.99 which i considered a complete ripoff.
