My jaw is on the floor. That is an absolutely amazing haul. And were there any loose games at all, or were every single one boxed?

Ya, I still had to fork out some cash for it but should still get around $2000+ for everything if I play my cards right - and that is far less than the price guides say considerably. I am keeping some of the Colecovision stuff, but much of it will be up for auction so keep your eyes peeled.
I will be doing a video showing the unboxing of the NES stuff as later today :) And the Tank Command Atari 7800 is listed now.

Amazing find. So what's the backstory on this haul? Was the seller another collector who knew what they had? Or was it just someone who wanted to get rid of all their 'old games'? And what did the CL post say? There must have been people still calling about it when you went to pick it up.

I asked him what he wanted for it all and he said $800. I gave him what he wanted and he was very happy. I asked him how he had all this stuff and he indicated he dad owned a store back in Jersey or somewhere back east. This stuff was in storage out there and then his dad emptied the storage unit and shipped this stuff to him. I think it was a combination of stuff from their store and also stuff he had growing up - his dad being in the business may explain the craploads of games he had - because I didn't know any of my friends who had this much stuff back in the day.
He really didn't know what he had and acted like, "cool, people actually collect this stuff".
So it was a deal that worked out for both of us. I called him in the early evening and it had meen listed most of the day. It was available when I called and didn't waste any time getting my butt over there :)
The Nintendo video will be up soon. Not sure there is to much interesting there or not. I was hoping it would have tons of rare stuff like on the Colecovision ,but I don't think so. But still over 130 boxed nes games all in great CIB condition for the most part.
It will start getting listed shortly.
I am going to start a thread in the auctions area that you will all want to stay on top of as I will keep updating it through the next couple weeks with all sorts of stuff from this lot.
On ChaseTheChuckwagon.com, of course :)

Definitely feels like a collector that had a fire sale on the stuff, not unlike I did a few years ago. I let some things go way under the going rate (I had more desirable things, nothing really rare) just to get rid of it all in one fell swoop. I'd be curious if it was just some person who had the stuff for whatever reason though...
Looking forward to the NES unboxing. :)

Sqoon
Super Dodgeball
Megaman
Princess Tomato
These are the standouts for me from that collection... as well as the sealed stuff. Super C sealed should bring you some good money. There's a few other "popular" titles too boxed like Contra and the Zelda games, but I think the real winner as far as rarity is the boxed Sqoon. :)
Based on the NES stuff alone I'd say for $800 you did damn good. Had I found something like that I'd have been happy and just considered the Atari stuff a bonus, haha. Great find indeed!

I will make the Battle for Olympus and Legacy of the Wizard mine...
... as soon as they go up for auction anyway.

Aw, years ago in a GameStop I remember passing up a sorta-boxed Stinger. I suppose that probably wouldn't have been worth as much as real boxed copy.
Passed since I had a loose copy, and I normally buy to play.
Leading me to pass up Stadium Events for like $9. Wow, that is one of the cases where I can feel bad about not buying for collection value. :P
(probably a former rental. Somebody had cut the box and pasted it inside a storage case. I remember because... well, cart games with a box and/or manual from that place are almost non-existent.)

It was cool, because the photos on Craigslist only showed stacks of games and I wasn't going to ask him to list them all. I figured with all that stuff, there has got to be some good stuff. So I was on pins and needles driving to pick them up. When I got there everything was all nicely boxed and ready to put in my truck. So again pins and needles while I was driving home not hardly able to contain myself while driving to open the lids next to me and peek in there, but I didn't.
When I got home it was like Christmas. True, I have sold lots of it, but I've kept about 75 games from all the lots. I love Boxed Games !! It's the only thing to collect these days.
