Unfortunately there are times when I have to put on my business owner hat and make difficult decisions...and now is the time to do so. What I am about to list are the new ground rules for South Jersey Classic. Keep in mind that this is by no means directed at any one person, or a result of anyone's specific action, I just felt that I needed to do this based on many things and I needed to list them so everyone can see. If you know someone who won't read this, please pass the information to them. I won't go into too much detail on these as they are pretty much self-explanatory...but if you have a question I will try my best to answer.

Here are the new rules effective immediately:

1) No alcohol permitted in the store at any time.

2) No one will be allowed in the "work area" (the space from the entrance of behind the counter to the computer) other than the following people: Jeremy, Jim, Dave, Chandler and of course me.

3) The only people that will ring customers up and answer the phone are the ones listed above. No exceptions. IF a customer comes in and thinks you work here and asks you a question, you can help them if you know the answer, if not then feel free to direct them to one of us.

4) The computer will only be used for business purposes...no youtube, no websites, basically no gathering around the computer.

5) However, if you do need to use the computer quickly (need to check your collection list, email, etc), you must ask me first and I will allow you to do so. Once you are finished though, you must leave the area.

6) You are welcome to enter the rest of the "back room" area if you are a regular (to get some food/drink, use the restroom, check out our overstock, etc), however do what you need to and then return to the front of the store. Do no hang behind the counter or in the back room.

7) If you bring someone who is not a regular (aka I don't really know them) and they need to use the restroom, first ask myself or the other workers, and then accompany them to the back.

8) During business hours (11-8) keep language and craziness to the absolute minimum...this is a store first and we need to conduct ourselves appropriately. Even if the store is completely empty, you never know when a customer will walk in.

9) The music that is being listened to will only be decided by me. Even after business hours, if you would like to put something else on, you must ask me first and I will decide if its ok. This also goes for playing music on another device (psp, game system, etc)...if you need to listen to something so bad and don't want to get/have permission, you are welcome to step outside and listen away.

10) If you are finished with a drink/plate/etc please throw it away and don't leave it laying around. If the trash cans are full (or getting full) let one of us know and we will change the bag. Also, just a suggestion and not really a rule but try and keep your drink with you and finish it....there are so many wasted drinks at the end of the night (even some that are almost full) and regulars generously donate drinks for the event...lets try not to waste their money.

That's all for now. Again these rules are in no way a result of one person's actions. If I need to amend any of these or add another rule I will post in the thread to alert you guys of it.

I hope this doesn't stop anyone from joining us and having a great time. I think we put on an awesome event every month and it only happens because of the great people we have in attendance.

Seems reasonable enough to me. I shall obey.

So, onto event conversation. Think we could maybe not have a Street Fighter tournament this time? Nothing against Street Fighter, but we've had two in a row, and we should probably mix things up a bit.

Also, thanks to Jeremy I am in the process of acquiring a copy of Xenogears which I was looking for, but I'm still looking for a copy of Beyond Good & Evil (GC), so if anyone's got it, and wants to sell it, bring it pl0x.

I'll be there as usual and I agree with Nick's decision 100%. Also, I'm not planning on planning a tournament at all. I hope someone else can come up with a new tournament idea that hasn't been done before...and maybe one that has prizes, no offense Dave but the Action 52 thing was lame. :'(

I hope to be there from opening this time and feel like I missed alot of fun even though I showed up at 5, which isn't too late. Nowadays I've been pretty busy and don't have the chance to go to the store as much I used to and I'd like to so whenever I go I try to make the most of it. I'm excited for next month like I am for every month and I hope to see everyone there!

Nevermind...during this post I came up with an idea for a "tournament". It isn't necessarily a tournament but a High Score Competition, similar to last month's Dragster tournament. Perhaps we could have a Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries Mode High Score challenge, but I'm just going to throw that out there and if someone else wants to pick up the torch and host it, that would be awesome. It would be an all day contest with infinite chances to beat the high score and you could either have a single character on a single stage or different high score challenges for different stages. Again, we'll see if I actually want to do this, so I'll let this hang out there and eventually I'll confirm whether I will/won't host this.

Ground rules are great, and hopefully common sense will prevail.

i need a project to chanel my energy at the moment, so expect a tourney idea/ template out of me and Mike from DE in the days to follow.

He is the absolute KING of bracket making, and i've been driven just crazy enough in the last 5 days to cook up something special.

To Anyone reading this who knows Wataru330's goverment name: I love you.

What a relief. And just so you know I don't take any offense to your rules even though at least 5 of them apply to me personally (I still don't see what's wrong with listening to the same song 60 times if you like it). Congrats on having an event successful and popular enough to require a little discipline.

Seconded, I really don't want to bring my 360 though. I am willing to bring games/accessories. But my 360 is all tangled up to my TV. This would be an awesome thing to do.

I just got word that I will be available pretty much all day. I will be bringing HUGE trade boxes chock full of NES & N64 carts. Bring cash. Some rare, some common. I will have a better idea after MGC, but at least 100+ games.

Alright, if anyone has some details for a tournament or special gaming related thing they are planning for this meet and would like included on the flyer please post now. deadline for input is midnight today (tuesday). If no one says anything or it seems like a cluster fuck in ideas i am just doing what ever the fuck i want and you will be thankful!!!!

really i just need something to break me away from Achievement whoring...

Also, Jersey is 10 hours away so probably the only way I'd ever make an SJC is if Chandler opened his heart and his home to me for a weekend that SJC takes place during.

I wanted to get a picture up from the event. We held a little birthday party for Allec and as we all know he gets all the cougars to dance with him at concerts...so we got him a cougar for his birthday. As you can see, he really enjoyed the gift...things got a little hairy though once the music started playing.
