Have the opportunity to buy two sealed AV games. They are Super Cobra and Space Force. I offered $200 for both, and the owner wants close to $400. What's it worth?

I sold a sealed boxed Pac Man 2 for the Entex Select A Game for $500 one time this past year and a second one with the down turned economy for $200 last month. And I think the AV games are more rare. $200 each sounds about right. But i don't think you will turn them for a big profit if you are simply buying to resell. If you were going to add them to your collection then $200 each doesn't sound like a bad price to me. :)

I agree with kaboomer also remember that you may never see them again especially sealed

I am unfamiliar with AV games but I think sealed ones are unheard of these days. If they are indeed real then try getting them for $300 or something.

if they are really sealed i would of bought them without thinking twice

Hmm, any tips on how to tell? I will be seeing the guy soon.

you should make a thread in general asking on how to tell if someone hasn't directed you. I'm trying to think of someone that collects these but not coming up with much but I'm sure someone knows.

Just picked up the games today for $350. They are in a plastic bag that I did not remove. Under the bag the games are sealed and flawless.

http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Entex/AV.html

According to the Handheld Games Museum, only 1,000 each of the 3 separate games were made for the AV. Out of those 1,000, how many can be sealed?

I just had conformation that the games were indeed a real factory
seal. AV games have a unique seal, with a small hole on the front and back. By clicking the above link, you can see for yourself. However, besides the seal, they are in an air-tight bag that is holding BOTH games. Could they have come from the factory like this? Was the toy store that carried the games supposed to open the bag?

I am kicking myself to this day.LOL When I was young I use to want that thing bad but it was always out of my reach price wise. I use to stare at that thing in the montomergy wards catalogue wishing on a star. I never played one. How did it play?

I don't own an AV at the moment. I heard they played bad.

thanks for the link PingvinBlueJeans that is really cool and really hard not to put a bid on it especially at that price. I can't believe its so difficult not to collect.

Well, it's nearly a year later, and in that time I have yet to see a single Adventurevision game for sale on eBay (unless in a package deal with the system), much less sealed. I really would love to know how many sealed games exist, and if the value is way up on these. I was offered $500 for both, but turned it down without thinking twice.

I don't think the value has changed much at all. Adventurevision items, especially sealed/new ones have always been scarce on Ebay or elsewhere. Having said that, it's not like that many people are collecting them primarily because they have always been expensive and they fall into that fuzzy category between console and electronic game. I know personally, I would buy a system or games if they ever became cheaper, but it's not something I would save or sacrifice to buy while there are many, many other items where that would be the case. As such, I probably will never own one and it frankly doesn't bother me that much. I suspect many collectors feel the same way and that's why the prices remain stable.

Going to put this up on Craigslist, and if it gets no interest, then an eBay 7-day listing. What do you think a fair asking price for both is? Any takers before it goes up? :)

I still kick myself for choosing an Entex Crazy Climber handheld over the Adventurevision, back in the day.

I guess that's what I get for playing favorites. But I loved me some Crazy Climber. At least it ended up being rare, too. But not Adventurevision rare.

Why in the hell would you limit yourself to Craigs List in listing these games? Sure they are rare, but if you're trying to sell them don't you want maximum exposure to net you the most money? I'd start out w/ Ebay and then think about GameGavel/CTCW. Getting the auction picked up by GameSniped won't hurt things either.

I was just trowing it out on Craigslist because it's free. On eBay I have a dilemma. If I put up a reserve price, I may turn off several people who would otherwise bid. If I don't put one up and do a normal 7 day listing, suppose it sells for dirt cheap? I'm still contemplating what to do.

Do fixed price with best offer. People come to you with their true max bids and you always have the power to say no and are never stuck with anything. I sold my grey NWC for an all time high price by that method.

Cool, any price suggestions? I'm gonna sell both sealed games as a package.

Put it for what you consider high for the games and let people sort it out. You never know - you might get your asking price.

IMO it hurts to pay that much up front but once you get the product and it turns out to be in as good a condition as they appear to be it ends up being worth it in the end.

Nice pickup.

Oops, didn't realize that the original post was a necro.

Clicked that link with 12 seconds to go, no auction madness at the end. :/

Aparently they are worth about 208.50 apiece sealed.

That feels about right. I paid $60 shipped for the last loose one I bought.

I just think it just happened to be a slow week. How many sealed AV games are out there? 5-10 (1,000 copies of the games were made)? Honestly there are more Stadium Events and Air Raid's on ebay. There are virtually never sealed AV games available. I made a mistake, I should have did a BIN or Best Offer. But whatever, you live you learn. :)

There are also a lot more people interested in 2600 and nes though. Rarity does not equal or imply high value.

Personally, I would have made the auction end on Sunday evening rather than Monday afternoon. Too many bidders at work.

Agree strongly. As I have pointed out before, the Adventurevision falls into that weird hybrid of console/handheld. There just aren't that many people who have it on the must own list. I know personally, if I could ever find one for a reasonable price, I would buy it. Having said that, I'm not overly concerned with finding one and won't lose any sleep if I never end up owning one.

On the Ebay timing thing, it's Summer which is slower anyway and the best time to end an auction is Saturday afternoon per a number of studies Ebay has done. Having said that, you may have gotten another $50 each on the games, but $500 for the pair seems like the high end of the range given that there was no system included or available. Considering you paid $350 a couple years ago, getting a little over $400 means that you probably paid about the right amount to start and that there just isn't much growth in Adventurevision sealed game value.

What's the prediction? $1,500? I say $2,000 tops.

This is the first time in a long time that a complete, boxed set has been available for a reasonable, non-bin auction. The system looks good and the games have their docs. I think it will clear $2000, but it won't go into the stratosphere on price.

Ouch... Never schedule a big auction to end during a weekday. That typically kills the last moment rush.

I wish I had known that. Then again, maybe it didn't matter. It seemed to attract very little interest.

Up to $1,675 with like 4 days left. Because I always wanted one of these, I was gonna do something stupid and delay my next car for a month or so, but my limit of $1,625 has already been surpassed. I'm kind of glad in a way, as the car is more important (although it's a lot less rare). :) At this rate the car won't be much more. :)

Off topic but what '98 pace car do you own? My personal favorite is the 1989 Trans Am Pace Car.

Wow, I haven't been watching this one closely. I thought it would go up at the end, but not this high this fast. We both may have underestimated it! The 89 T/A was one of the turbo cars, right?

I've got the 98 Corvette Indy Pace Car. The purple and yellow one. I don't have any good pics of it here at work, but here's one that happened to be on my computer. It's my baby, had it since it was brand new (6 miles on the odo when I picked it up).

Which SS are you wanting to buy? I had a 2002 SS in navy blue, but recently sold it to help fund my wedding. It was up to about 475 hp and was a BLAST to drive. I wish I could have kept it, but it was really a bit too much to drive on the street on any sort of regular basis (and I needed the money more than another car). But one of these days, I'll get another Camaro to tinker with. They are just too much fun to not have one!

His reserve isn't met either. I'm guessing it's at 2k.

the 1989 T/A Pace Car was the only V6 T/A ever made. It has the Grand National engine. I've had two GN's, and would love to see the engine in a T/A. Depending on who you talk to, it may also be the fastest T/A, but that's up for debate.

I'll be getting my friend's 1998 Camaro SS. A 6-speed, with low miles (I believe under 60k). I can get it now, but I really don't wanna do payments, and give him everything up front. He's giving me a very good deal.

Love the car btw. You are one lucky guy. You have that and a Halcyon. Not sure which I'd rather have. :)
