Good luck getting the few you need, I am about in the same situation as you, just need stadium events, NWC, hot slots (I did need a good complete Chubby Cherub, but I took care of that tonight, pardon the snipe but I have been looking for a quality complete one for quite a long time, as I am sure you have as well, that game is pretty damn hard to find complete)
BTW, I have bought a few games from you on ebay and am very happy with the purchases, don't be afraid to deal with Chris, he is a good and honest seller!

Hey Danny,
What's the deal with Chubby Cherub? I never figured that for a rare title (although I don't think that I have ever seen a complete one before.)
Is that a harder to find title, or did you pay a little extra because it's one of the few you needed?
Just curious.
Thanks,
Steve

For me it has been nearly impossible to find complete (except the few that come across ebay once in a great while). I have come across 2 or 3 loose carts, (many loose carts on ebay though) but have only come across a very few complete one's on ebay (the last one hit in the $60's and I was sick of looking for it so I figured I would ante up to get it). I am pretty sure this was an early release game (since everyone I have seen has the 5 screw setup on the back of the cart). Oh well, guess I will have to sell more potato chips this week! :D :D

That was a sweet chubby thats for sure. Maybe I'll have better luck next time. Had a friend of mine find Stadium Events at game stop second one and sold it to me today for 10.00 shipped. So I can wait for chubby.....but I hope not much longer.

Danny you crack-whore, just because I bought $00 with of NES games and boxes and everything from you last week doesn't mean you can go and spend it on Complete NES games.
WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME, nice game.
I think i'm down to less than 30 carts for my collection. and I do have Peek a boo poker boxed, bubble bath babes boxed and the box and instructions for hot slots, but alas no stadium events.

I don't mind to be a prying person, but I have a question to those of you who are closed to having complete collections...
how do you do it!?!?
I work @ IBM, single, still live at home, so as you can imagine have really big amounts of dispossible income.. but I do limit myself to about 100-200$ worth of NES shopping per month!
But at this rate, I'll get most of the carts in a few years...
are you guys spending a heck of a lot more, been in it longer, or actually have your own stores where people bring in good and you pay much less than people like I do for the carts..
always was interested..
Thanks.

Your answer is most likely in regards to spending. If you collect loose carts only, and have aspirations of completing a US NES collection by spending an average of $5.00 per cart, you could be at it for a very long time. O_O
If you want the manual and box for each at $5.00 each - you can pretty much forget it.
My advice to you would be to look for the volume auction. For example:
If there was an auction for 250 carts for $600, many people get turned off because they don't have $600 to blow on NES games. In actuality, that's a cost of $2.40 per game. Even if you had to turn around and sell/trade 30-50 of those carts because you already had them, it would still be worth it because of the price per item.
When you get down to the last 150 carts or so, then you can spend a little more to weed out the medium range games, and still keep your overall cost per game average to around $4 or $5 (the overall number of games will keep the per unit cost low).
With the last 50 or so - face it, barring the occasional stroke of luck or trade, you will have to shell out some dough to get them.
Personally, I am trying to get a complete game for each US title. If I can keep my cost per unit under $10 per game over the long haul, then I consider it a success. Consider that if you saw a brand new NES game on sale for $9.99, you would probably buy it...thus the $10 rule for me, as my games, boxes and manuals are all in near mint/mint/sealed condition.
As Gamestops have fewer and fewer NES games, the chances of scoring a lot of titles for little money gets more and more difficult.
Hope this strategy helps.

My biggest advantage was finding a wholesaler that was clearing out NES games. In general I paid WAY less than $5 per title, but when it came to getting rarer complete titles, I usually bit the bullet and paid the going rate (like on stack up complete, peek a boo poker and bubble bath babes) I had the same success with SNES and genesis (but I have not gone through all of those games yet, that is what I am doing right now). My chance of having a complete collection was much more luck than by financial choice. I am married and have 2 young kids so I can't spend a mint on games, but I do spent at least $100 to 200 per month on games, but I also sell off some dups when I have the time.
Thats about it! :D

I started 2 1/2 years ago. Back then there were tons of NES at game stop dirt-cheap. I started there. I remember when they were selling NES systems for 12.50 now they want 50.00 for them. Flea markets are a good deal some times. I normal buy all the cheap MM's and other popular games I can find at yard sale and flea markets. Clean them up then sell them on ebay to fund my game buying. It takes a lot of time, searching web and trading to get a complete collection. I don't know to many people that have a complete collection with all manuals and boxes. I know a few people with cart collection. I'm now to 5 games, 7 manuals, 13 boxes to complete my US collection. Which includes all blue and black color dreams carts.
Hey Danny I emailed you with a complete list of what I'm looking for. Would you have any of the stuff I need in trade?

I just scored the clue book a few nights back on ebay. I could also use another Bandit Kings box(mine is in poor shape) I am also wondering if any of you have the Enix Dragon Warrior 3 send away map? I have the DW2 one with the letter from Enix.
