Hey gang,

First up, here's what's for grabs:

Thought I'd try something fun here. I have the game Left 4 Dead for the Xbox 360 up for grabs. Bought it new, played it twice, and it's been in the trade box ever since. Now, I could just sell it for a decent price or I could eBay/CTCW/GG it, but I had a more interesting idea. Here's how it will work:

I'm asking for interested parties to send me a PM telling me how much they would like to pay for this item. I'll be taking bids until Wednesday at 6 p.m. EST. At that time, the highest offer gets it. It's that simple. Now, unlike an auction where the bids are incremented, this is a blind auction. The highest offer literally gets it for that offer. If you throw out a bid of $200, congrats, you pay $200. SO ONLY OFFER WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY.

However, I will NOT be posting the "highest bid received" nor will I offer any clues as to who's winning. Until Wednesday at 6 p.m., all offers are private and hidden. Highest bid by that time gets to buy it for that price. Shipping is included in this offer too.

So that's the offer. You could try lowballing in hopes that everyone else is shooting for the "highest low bid." Or you could offer 3 times what a new copy would cost, knowing that would lock you in. Your call.

And to make this even more interesting, you do not need to round to the nearest dollar. In other words, an offer of $15.01 will win over an offer of $15.00. So feel free to use the "cents" to try to eek out a bit of a lead.

So that's the game. What will happen? Will everyone shoot low? Will someone throw out an insane bid just to get it? Or will the bids settle around a certain dollar amount? No idea. But that's the offer. Go ahead.

And as usual, Paypal payment is required for this and shipping only within the U.S. (Apologies to the rest of the planet.)

Bump. So far, it appears that someone is about to get a helluva deal.

Also, I made up a Left 4 Dead clock for someone who bailed. Anyone want this for $14 shipped?

This ends in 12 hours. Anyone else want to try to float in the "highest low bid"?

Hey gang,

Well the experiment is over. The highest offer I got was for $35.00 so that's the price someone just bought it for. I'll let them fess up if they want to claim the winning bid.

I received only 8 offers in the last three days. The highest amount offered was obviously the winning bid - the lowest was $12.00. Of the bids, the average amount offered worked out to be $22.17. There were only two offers over $30.00, but there were four offers less than $20.00.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who participated! I may do this again one day with an equally intersting item up for grabs!
