My Collection pales in comparison to most of the other DPers, but I love the feel of the room, its pretty much my escape from reality. Anyways, here it is, I hope you like it!

Are your more modern consoles in the same room as your retro stuff?

very nice! My gaming room is a little brighter, but your room looks so comfy I could see myself gaming for hours on end!
I may as well share mine. It's a little more destroyed however(It acts as my office/studio) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/obesolete/sets/72157613719745190/)

Awesome! I love how you included other older items like the couch and old Sony TV to enhance the feel of late 80's/early 90's gaming. I'm envious of this room. Well done!

hehe thanks for the feedback guys =)
Yea it is very dark in the room in the daytime too, I wanted to try and keep sunlight off the old stuff so it wont fade.
Anyone notice the Flight of the Navigator Poster?

Everything looks great man, brilliant job!....
Although, if you are truly worried about the fading part, you shouldn't have your systems in an enclosed environment, specially your SNES/NES....The systems need and require a good amount of space to actually breath, when there is not a lot of room, the internal combustion heat produced by the power regulator can speed the process for the ABS plastic to turn yellow, specially if you put a good amount of game play time in them, if not, you should be fine...

I did, I remember liking that movie as a kid.
The setup is clean, I like the shelving solutions for all the games.

That couch is of high quality. From this angle, it seems to merit a "MINT" rating.
It also is pleasantly 80s.
Once I get a nice retro graphics card (or plug in the GeForce 4 4400 TI), my retro machine > yours :P
I should get rid of my dual processor Pentium III machine (550MHz CPUs I think) and get a dual processor Xeon or something. Or not; depends how much space it all takes up...

GeForce 4 Is too new, I got a Ti 4600 if u wanna buy one lol. ( it doesnt work very nicely with win98 from what I tried it with )

also got a Hercules 3D Prophet III ( GeForce 3 ) card too, it works ALOT nicer with 98 gaming machines.

It's only too new if it breaks compatibility or doesn't have drivers (you can get a GeForce 9400 GT for the old PCI bus but it won't likely work on old OSes as I haven't found any Win9x drivers).

I tried the Ti4600 in my machine, the computer kept locking up and the screen went crazy, So I moved it to a barebones Pentium 3 800 with xp and it worked flawlessly there.
Also have a spare GeForce II Ultra card here if interested.
All of these cards are tested working flawless, they are in amazing shape too. I lubricated the fan bearings as well for longevity.

Ah, good old Hercules video cards. I especially loved the "Hercules Terminator Beast" card. Possibly the raddest name for a video card ever.

I ran into a mention of the Hercules 3D Prophet II Ultra just yesterday too, some coincidence!
Out of curiosity, how much faster than the GF II Ultra is the 3D Prophet II Ultra?

the 3d Prophet II Ultra is a GeForce 2 Ultra. Same Ram etc... But the Hercules card has a DVI Output and is blue!!! ( It was clocked a little better in reviews, and handled Overclocking alot better )
I love blue, and hercules 3D has a crazy history ( they went bankrupt by being gluttons, $30,000 office parties etc... )
Here is the 3D Prophet II Ultra I have
http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc184/fxmercenary/herc3D2.gif
As you can see, its the same board layout as the nVidia spare I have

Yeah, I checked out the infoz, but didn't see a head-to-head review. It's definitely very blue.

That's a nice room, FxMercenary!
I didn't see a problem with it at all. I personally like playing in darker rooms and mostly, that is what I played in growing up. In addition, the old posters and dolls and such make it a truly retro room.
Finally, don't worry about the size of the collection in the room. Just because people have more games than you, it doesn't mean that they should fit them all into one room. Your room looks perfectly livable, playable and natural.
