If there was one game you wish you owned at the moment what would it be?
my personal choice at the moment would be ghostbusters for c64
the reason for this is because i didnt understand it when i was a kid and
want to beat it soo bad i found it so frustrating..... so just played krakout instead that was a great game!

The Adventures of Willy Beamish mint on CD (Talkie version) for the PC. I've been looking for this with box, artwork and Willy Beamish watch since I was a kid.
It was a game that I wanted for the longest time when I was young and it sold out everywhere here.

gold NWC so I could sell it and make a down payment on a house.
For collecting/playing purposes I'd have to say Suikoden II.

cib Knuckles Chaotix on the 32X. I'd still need a 32X but that'd go a really long way toward completing my Sonic collection. Failing that, Shining Force CD.

Battlesphere for the Atari Jaguar. Not because of it's rarity or it's potential collectability, just because I've always loved good 3D space shooters like Star Raiders and I've only ever had the chance to play the game at conventions. I just cannot justify spending $500 on a game (that most collectors treat like a commodity rather than something to play and enjoy).

Mint condition copy of Brigandine Grand Edition. While the original Brigandine is one of my favorite games of all time, Grand Edition is pretty much the exact same game with slight changes which technically makes it the superior game.
Damage ratio is now broken up into the paper>rock>scissors way(like Fire Emblem,) where it's now Red>Green>Blue Black=White while it used to just be Red=Blue Black=White then Green. Classes were given different enhancements like Paladin's having a 50% chance of reducing physical attack damage by half or Shogun's reducing all arrow damage by 50%. Characters like the Samurai classes have Iai Slash as a long range ability rather than being something that takes MP to use(though not quite as good but still good.) All characters have the ability to attack normally, or due a different stronger attack for less of a hit percentage, with all hit percentage now shown. Other things like Dinadin being his own special class, Thunder attacks being moved over to Green elemental, Lance becoming Green elemental, and a new monster class and new items. The new monster class is actually a version of my favorite monster class(upgraded from Lizard Guard to Lizard King,) in which the new Lizard King can now move and attack twice each turn, like a Ninja.
Anyways. I've played this game as a download. I've only seen it once on Ebay, which at the time didn't have the money. Unfortunately the game is Japanese only but there has been a translation patch.

I actually got Willy, the talkie version, on CD for like, $5 at a local K-mart over 10 years ago. It didn't have any watch with it, though. I still have the CD (and maybe the manual somewhere), but the box is loooong gone. It was kind of a weird skinny box if I remember right.
I've only successfully played it once, though. For some reason I've never been able to get it to work with any of my own PCs or DOSbox, ScummVM or anything like that. I remember it was WAY better than the Sega CD version though, mainly for there being captions and it didn't take 20 seconds to load each screen.
Maybe someday I can get it to work... Until then, I'll never know what happens after the toot-sweet frog jump contest.

Recca Summer Carnival '92.
A pricey cart even loose, but its the game that pushed the FC/NES hardware to its absolute limits. The only bullet hell shooter on the hardware to boot.
Perhaps sometime this year, if I'm lucky.

I'd love a complete copy of SNES Chrono trigger, and I'd also like a seperate loose cartridge that I can play. I loved that game. I remember playing it throughout my 6th grade or something, but I played the PS version.

As far as classic gaming goes, I'd like an MIB copy of Final Fantasy III (VI) (SNES), just for collecting's sake since it's my favorite game of all time :) I have an MIB copy of it for Super Famicom, but I'd like the US version, too :D

Maybe also a CIB Earthbound for SNES.

If I'm forced to pick a game that I'd keep rather than sell (NWC, Starfox competition, Blockbuster Competition carts, I'm lookin at you), then it would be one of the following (all cib of course):
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Snatcher (Sega CD version)
EVO Search For Eden
Chrono Trigger
Fire Emblem Thracia 777
Square Millennium Collection Parasite Eve 2 or Legend of Mana
Suikoden II

I want it because I think it would be fun to recreate the NWC with some friends and it is a piece of gaming history. Plus I loved 'The Wizard'.

either gold nwc or get my copy of pepsi invaders back
gold nwc is about the most expensive thing you can have that you would ever come close to getting but If I really could have anything I think I might take a apf proto type over it just for the obscurity of such an item. Has anyone ever seen one of those?

I got my hands on a pal version of this last year. It was the end of a long and frustrating journey. First I bought a boxed 32x off uk ebay in preparation, which SEEMED to have everything included... until I got it home and realised it was missing the small Mega-Drive/32x link cable... how many people have fallen for that???? Eventually I got the cable from America, then the game from Britain. Meanwhile I am in Australia. A lot of effort for a pretty ordinary game, but at least I have it now ^^;

some of you seem to be thinking small, if you could have anything would you really chose a 100$ game no way here 100$ isn't that much to spend on a game all. nwcs are sort of a given and very cool there's been a few other big rares mentioned too but like i said before think about the possibility of this. lets take something like a 2600 pac man something most of us have 10 or 20 of in the doubles box. So instead of a released pac man how about a pac man proto wouldn't' that be cool. Now lets have that proto signed by Toru Iwatani Yay! now you have a one of a kind collectible and you could have that with any game. on this particular example you could have Jerry Buckner and Gary Garcia sing it too. have fun and dream big

castlevania dracula X, one of the last few games i need to have all the castlevania's.
I finally snagged one of those last year when I found a cheap one on ebay.
As for my personal pick, I've always wanted the Mat Mania arcade cabinent. Why? Because there has never been a 100% arcade perfect console version. As a matter of fact, the only console version is for some really old system that I don't own. This game would be such a great release for Xbox live marketplace. Maybe I should get the word out.

Except that Pac Man for 2600 is, well, sucky. If I had my choice of a game, it would be something I'd want to play, and something that I couldn't easily get online.
My choice is a cockpit Mame machine with detachtable steering wheel/flight yoke.

Well, it's true that I've wasted a lot of money on the markup for importing, but I would never send games back in carry-on. Ship it out from Japan; airlines have a much worse rate of losing and even damaging things than regular shipping services.
In fact, some travel experts tell people to mail their must-have stuff right to their hotel and bypass the airline as much as possible. Just take carry-on and that's it.
