These dudes make fun of youtube videos. It strangely is very smally reminicent of when beavis and butthead made fun of music videos. Funnier than shit. Some are not as good, but some, like the mirror's edge one, is crazy funny

Yeah, I was really tempted to make a new thread about NAVGTR.

NAVGTR is an acronym for "National Academy of Video Game Testers and Reviewers (TM)" and apparently they had a ton of ooooold video games reviews. I'm not sure the robot man doing them is actually playing the games or just reading, but it's just appalling how he's switching his opinion on what games need to be "six times in a row" as the MSTers were saying.

So anyway, this National Academy of Duncery seems to have decided to upload their stuff to Youtube. Frankly it's not really that bad to have it up as a sort of historical perspective (for example, the semi-rare prototype footage in the N64/PSX face-off), although I have to wonder who was subscribing to their videos back in the day. Even so, I think they're aware how awful the stuff is:


The opinions expressed in "Gaming in the Clinton Years" are those of the original 90's writers and not the narrator or NAVGTR Corp., which was incorporated in 2001. NAVGTR is not a person. Clinton videos are unrelated to the NAViGaTR Awards. Ubiquitous narrator does not and never did determine (or vote upon) the outcome/recipients.
So yeah, they just smacked him down to the curb, hardcore yo

One thing's for sure; I won't be making fun of EGM or any of the classic mags ever again after this. I have seen the enemy and he thinks Formula One racers should drive through waterfalls (huh, getting an extreme sense of Deja Vu on that line).

Hilarious when they call Goldeneye's multiplayer versions of regular levels "secret" and then say they can't test them out anyway because they only have one controller.

He also said no one cares enough about multiplayer to buy a game for it. While reviewing one of the most popular multiplayer games of that console era.

I think my favorites so far, though, are the schizophrenic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night review about how all the good things about it add up to disappointment, comparing the Playstation to the N64 by comparing Resident Evil to Super Mario 64 and giving the nod to N64 because Resident Evil is impossible to beat, finding out that Rare discovered rendered graphics and that people who don't like Donkey Kong Country are stupid and the reviewer's strategy for the only way to beat Double Dragon V, to mash forward and X repeatedly. The raw videos are even funnier than the ones with these guys talking over them, because you can hear more of the ridiculous statements.

It's kind of scattershot. Usually there's one or two good jokes per video, but it reminds me a lot of being on Ventrillo with some people. A lot of random shit in there.

The saddest video is where they're 'genuinely concerned' about some guy's voice, but one of the people in the video has a voice that's nearly as crazy as the guy they're lampooning.

Was fun for a while though. Also, you can't go wrong with the NAVGTR videos :)

I still like Classic Game Room HD the best I think, and the guy from videogames101 is pretty good, but I'm definitely adding this guy to my list of things to watch. He's funny.

About the navgtr videos, I used to watch all of the classic reviews (Which they've titled "Gaming in the Clinton Years") on my local Public Access channel. It was from a show called "Flights of Fantasy".

Am I the only one who used to watch this?
