A customer of mine emailed me saying he has a Prostation video game console and games. He wants to know how much they are worth.
I've never heard of the "Prostation" and he confirmed for me he didn't mean Playstation. He said the Prostation has cartridges and they only display in black and white.
Anyone heard of this before? I can't find any info about it

Maybe it's one of those knockoff systems? They usually don't have cartridges though so I don't know.

If it's not just some chinese knockoff system maybe they mean ProSystem? In which case it would be an Atari 7800. Though that wouldn't explain the B&W.

I've never heard of it either. I even did some research and couldn't come up with anything that even was game related with that title and the black and white output. :(

Well I'm going to go with jb143's suggestion that it might be a 7800 system. I remember getting black and white from mine, but it was due to a faulty video wire.
Otherwise. I'm also stumped.

a cheap bootleg or chain store system, ask him what the carts say and if there's a date. pics are also nice. Oh and get his location that might help us out.
edit: added
if where sticking to the 7800 thing it may have a black and white switch like the 2600s i'd check but I have no idea where mine are. It could be on the system or the switch box.

Could be 7800 games. Alot of 7800 games have black and white lables maybe thats what he means. Best way to find out for sure is to ask the names of some of the games.

Just imagine my surprise when I found out it was a POGstation.
Oodles and oodles of pogs spilled out of the machine, covering everything, smothering the cat and making it hard to breathe!
I await further information with bated breath (it'd smell of ink, but it is bated after all).

Make sure you check to see if it's an enlarging Prostation. I hear those are trouble.

Isn't that a famiclone that looks like a Playstation?

Glad that I didn't have to be the one to throw that joke out there.

I thought this was a thread about cancer and was wondering why it was placed in the classic gaming section.

At first glance I thought it said "Prostitution"
Well that and prostate...

I've asked the customer for a list of some of the games. And see if he means "ProSystem".
I never would have thought so many people would think the heading was about male anatomy or prostitution. I wondered why the thread got so many views. Now I know. :)
If it's black and white only it's possibly an RCA Studio II clone.

*head slap* Wait a second, that's just the "subtitle" of the regular Atari 7800.
I've managed to get b&w (grayscale actually) out of my GameCube (using the same TV I always do), so it's not inconceivable that this could happen with an Atari 7800.

It sounds like it is most likely the Atari 7800.
The only game the customer can remember is Ms. PacMan. That doesn't help much because that game has come out for tons of systems but that is all they could remember.
Thanks for all the input
