I think $40 for a boxed one is not unreasonable. Loose, no.
I've yet to see another one in the wild besides my own, for whatever that's worth.

I have personally never seen a gold N64 in the wild. And to be honest, I didn't know about them until this post. And N64's are usually easy to find and cheap.

I'd jump on a boxed gold one, in good shape with at least one controller for $40. Of course, I've never even seen one locally, not even back when it was new. :(

As an owner of a boxed US N64 collection, I personally think that a boxed Gold N64 system is one of the harder ones to get, even if it is not really rare. I would buy it.

I would pay $40 dollars for a boxed gold n64 any day. Especially if it was complete with both of the gold controllers. Of course I would try and get them down on the price first. I have only found 1 loose in the wild and it didn't have the gold controllers. The gold one was toy's r us exclusive and is one of the hardest to find especially boxed.

I lucked out, got a loose gold one for less than 10 bucks at Goodwill a while back, but it didn't have the controllers. I could see paying decent money for a boxed complete one.
