View Full Version : REQ: Information on GameBoy/GBP/GBC official link cables

Nintendo of America (and Canada) seem to have zero information on this and I'll be hard pressed pardon looking at an official cable (which I don't have access to) to find the model number and compatibility, so here I am.

I would like to know what the GameBoy Color "Universal Game Link Cable" and the GBA Link Cable are compatible with. I believe the UGLC is compatible with GBC, Pocket(& Light), and Original too? Whereas the GBA cable is GBA and GBC/Pocket compatible, right? I'd like this confirmed.

In addition, I'd request if someone who has the model/part numbers stamped on these units to provide them as that may prove to be an easier way to find them. Thanks.

DMG-04 - Link cable
DMG-07 - Multitap, allows connection for 4 Gameboys
DMG-14 - Universal Game Link Adapter: For connecting an MGB-008 cable to the Gameboy.

Gameboy Pocket:
MGB-004 - Game Link Cable Adapter: For connecting a DMG-04 cable to the Gameboy Pocket.
MGB-008 - Link cable
MGB-010 - Universal Game Link Cable: This has a Gameboy Pocket plug in one end and both Gameboy and Gameboy Pocket plugs in the other.

CGB-003 - Link cable

This is the Universal Game Link Cable I'm familiar with and it works with GBC/GBP/GB. Can you confirm this?

Yeah, it's that one, but that isn't just a CGB-003. That box includes both a link cable and a DMG-14 adapter strapped to the link cable.
