Now this is where I will probably be most interested in buying Wii VC games. We get some true classic games not the same as console games, which are probably much more enjoyable for retro gamers than those WiiWare games.

When it comes to console games, I like the original hardware.

While I don't like playing roms on my computer as much due to lagging and emulation issues with higher end games, the Wii usually seems to be very good at handling it. I also couldn't figure out how to get the Arcade Emulator to work on my modded Xbox, as the Xbox crashes when I load the emu and I have to turn off the system and turn it back on; then just pick something else to play.

Collection of true Arcade cabinets is out of the question for me, due to space and price issues. So this might truly be the way to the Arcade for me. The fact that Namco will be on there makes me happy. My dad's girlfriend was always talking about wishing Atari would be on the Wii VC or that she could at least play the arcade versions of Pac-Man or Galaga on it.

It makes me wonder why the current Atari company wouldn't join in, but it's probably because they'd rather rerelease classic games on more and more Flashback units from time to time.

Oh yeah Sega's on there? Maybe they could bring in SegaSonic for once and give it motion sensing controls in place of trackball tapping. Ray the Flying Squirrel has very little exposure among newer gamers and Mighty the Armadillo has only been around once besides this game.

CPS1, CPS2, and Neo Geo are fully compatible with the PSP as are quite a few MAME with Final Burn Alpha(in FBA about 2/3 of the compatible games are full speed while the remaining 1/3 have speed issues or sound issues -- amazing emulator for shmups though.)

Due to having excellent compatibility on the PSP, arcade games should be no problem for the Wii. However, probably won't see any arcade games with 3d on the Wii, mainly because any fully 3d MAME games run at horrible frame rates on the PSP(even some that have partial 3d run slow.)

With Sony's recent advancement on bringing more than just PSX games to the PSN, I'd think Sony would take cue and copy this idea. The PSN hardware is much more powerful so it would work. Microsoft doesn't have to copy because they're already doing it. If Sony doesn't go through with this idea as well, then you really have to wonder what kindof morons are heading the company?

Come on D&D: Towers of Doom *crosses fingers*

That would be one of the best VC releases ever. Seriously.

Third for that. The wife and I would blow a lot of tokens playing this game.

Hmm i'm surpise though, nintendo did add that function recently for useing the sd card directly.I guess they feel they could put in the option for arcade games becuase of it.Now if they could just put in the arcade version of (donkey kong) it be perfect. For that matter getting konami to sign on..they do have a large library of arcade games ;)

Come on contra, super contra or even m.i.a:Missing in Action and tmnt.

This is nice but I really think that Commodore Amiga games should be next. So many classics.

I ask myself that all the time why !? Sure the nes one was ok back in the 80's,but there is still no excuase why nintendo couldn't emulate the arcade version of donkey kong.

I'm pretty stoked about Solvalou. I wish Konami would get in there and release Solar Assault!

From that list, I'd get Assault, Pac-Mania, Cosmo Gang Video, and Xevious.

I'd like to see Super Pac, Metro-Cross, Baraduke, and Jr. Pac.

One arcade game I know wont be on there will be T2-Arcade. Thats an awesome game that would translate very well to the Wiimote.

I hope they release the Battletoads arcade game, The Simpsons, and Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder. I'm kind of doubtful about Battletoads though...since it was made by RARE. It's more likely that it would show up on Xbox Live.

I haven't downloaded any games off the Virtual Console yet, because I own the original versions of just about every game that's worth downloading. However, arcade games would be an entirely different story. There's tons of them out there I would want.

Sounds great in concept, but the announced games so far aren't anything terribly interesting. But there is a lot of potential, especially if Sega is forthcoming with any of their arcade exclusives, and if Capcom joins in. And whoever owns the rights to Crystal Castles; not sure if that went to Atari Corp. (Infogrames/the new Atari) or Atari Games (Midway).
