Can anyone here either describe or post diagrams showing where the "holds" are in Ms. Pac-Man? The places the ghosts won't go, esp. in the first three boards? I'm really not much good at this game; maybe this would help.

Thanks in advance.

I never heard of this. I thought the ghosts went everywhere?

I thought Ms. Pacman didn't have those. Unlike Pac-Man, the ghosts in Ms. Pac-Man incorporate random movement making at least patterns impossible. I could be wrong though, I was never good at that game either.

No they are there, and I have no idea where. But I was looking over Billy Mitchells shoulder while he was playing at the CGE, and he was chilling out in a hold for long periods of time. So I know they are there. Id like to know too.

Well, in that case, I'd like to know as well.

Maybe you're talking about grouping?

Wow you're cool.

Oh and google search doesn't even lead to any relevant results.

The Winning Edge column of the July 1983 issue of Joystick (http://www.digitpress.com/library/magazines/joystik/joystik_jul83.pdf) magazine describes a hiding place on the third maze layout (pear/banana level) of Ms. Pac-Man. There doesn't appear to be a hiding place for every maze layout.

I have this book and I will provided scans of all pages pertinent, to Ms. Pacman. Stonic is right, one is on the 3rd board. Be patient, so I can properly violate international copyright laws. They'll be up soon.

Calm down. I was just kidding. Sorry if it came off as being as jackass, I just think that site is really funny (I can't be the only one with friends who constantly ask about stuff they could easily google search).

As for no relevant links, the first two links have diagrams of the holds.

Cool, thanks for posting, Mr. Institution!

No problem, sometimes I feel the need to balance out the +1's in my resume.

Speaking of Pac-man has everyone seen this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZWYwYqbfuM

One of my good friends (the guy that plays the blue ghost) made it. I'm sure a lot of people here have seen it. It got pretty big for a while there and even made it on Attack of the Show.

Thanks again.

There are "holds" (which are used for grouping) in all four mazes. The problem was that while the ones for the first three mazes were well known (among pro players), there didn't seem to be one for the fourth maze, until the "Bozeman Think Tank" discovered it.

I know about those. But no really helpful diagrams for an amature.

Well, last night- twice- I managed to reach the "junior" boards, or the fourth mazes.

I've done this before, but what made this different was the fact that that, for the first time, this was more due to skill than blind luck. The holds in the third maze made it possible, although my scores are still low (I do not play for score as much as distance).

Thanks to TheDomesticInstitution for the information.

By the way- my time on these computers is very limited. I do not have much time to search for useful information on these things.
