View Full Version : BLue and white checkered screen with xbox 360.

The last few days my xbox 360 has been messing up and i am wondering if the jolly red ring is on it's way. It's either a blue and white checkered screen or a grey mess. The lights stay the same but the console basically stops working until i restart it. Is it time for me to start to look for a repair method? If so anyone know a good guide i can go off of. Also my xbox is fairly old, one of the old failure ones. First problem i've had with it conveniently 4 months after my warranty runs out. Thanks in advance!

Yep, your GPU is starting to come loose. You can try one of the "cures" you see on the internet, but they don't really fix the problem.
Best solution really is to send it back to microsoft.

My first 360 did the same thing, but never red ringed. Then again, it only did it a few times before I called. Thankfully it was under warranty.

Joyful, just in time for spring break haha. Well I suppose some of my wii games are going to get their well deserved play time. I'm not gonna try one of those stupid tricks online to fix it, i want to actually open it up and fix the problem.

Has anyone else gotten this recently because online with me looking around it seems like a lot of people got it while on xbox live in the past week and a bit. Kind of a strange coincidence or i am just mad at microsoft and fabricating coincidences haha.

I was on Xbox Live when mine did the checker board. Before it did that every time I got on to play COD 4 I would start a game (four times) then it would freeze up. Then the checker board of death. Mine was the Elite model.
