Saw one in a store today...Was being sold for $350...How much are they worth, really? Was non-boxed, one controller and all hookups.

$350's on the high side for one. $225 or so is more in line with an average price.

Does the sound work properly? That's a common problem with the capacitors going bad, check if the sound plays properly(it's usually the CD audio that fails). It could be costly to get that repaired.
