Ultraverse Prime Stops Loading

I just picked up a copy of the Double Deal Prime and Microcosm for the Sega CD. When I put Prime in it loads up to a loading screen with titular Prime screaming, after a moment the screen goes black and there it sits, the access light is not even flashing. The disk seems fine no major wounding, I am fairly new to the Sega CD and was just looking for some enlightenment.

This one is a bit old but I'm going to bump it. I'm on my second copy now and it's doing the same thing. I cannot get them to work, with a crash in the same spot as 2DSkillz. The first one was beat up so I wrote it off to that. The new one I just got looks almost untouched.

I've wanted to play this thing for years now since I adore beat-em-ups and it's like a cruel joke at this point. I'm on a Sega CD 2 and beginning to wonder if that's not the issue.

I know some games had issues with the CDX - Jurassic Park had issues, and a space shooting game would play fine until the actual end screen, and crash. Always pissed me off.
