Has anybody else run an audit in this version to find out that they've got 65+ incorrect ROMsets now? I watched the audit go through, until the very end there were only 3 marked as wrong. Cripes...

...and then you notice they're all Neo Geo games...

What you're seeing here is the effects of the Neo Geo BIOS being redumped, so it's only one file. Of course, BangBead's been renamed (to BangBead, appropriately) but this doesn't require a redownload.

In the end, .69's made my Auditing a lot less difficult...now only 1 game not working, just as I used to have. (Still Vicious Cycle...grr)

I had this problem at first as well, until I grabbed the new Neo Geo BIOS. You should come visit us in the emulation forum the next time you want to chat about these goodies :)

True, wrong forum. I forget that such things as an "emulation forum" can actually exist... o_O

I'm a little confused after updating to 0.69.

As Ed O states, NONE of my Neo-Geo ROMS are working any more. But I downloaded the new neogeo.zip ROM file... please don't tell me I need to get all new Neo-Geo ROMS!

Anyone know?

Was the bios file you downloaded a complete file or just an update? I haven't actually played anything under .69 yet, but I used ClrMamePro to rebuild the bios (and everything else, of course) for .69. I know the Neo-Geo stuff works under .69, as there have been complaints about the timing being changed from 60Hz to 59Hz, and now there's some skipping and such. I believe that was changed back in the source only update .69a that came out last night (which I believe Haze released that way instead of an official release because this build includes another DBZ game, and he's very anti-DBZ due to the infamous Brazillian DBZ rom kiddiez).

Another possibility might be if the changes to the bios included an update to one of the existing ROMs in the bios set, and that ROM also exists in your Neo-Geo game sets. I think in that case it would probably use the ROM in the game set instead of the bios set.

Me thinks you downloaded the Neo Geo BIOS for v0.68. The Bios changed in 0.68, and then AGAIN in 0.69. You don't have to redownload your Neo Geo roms fortunately :) Also, when you audit, be SURE to use the latest Clrmame (2.90) and you should be fine. Just get the neogeo.zip from mame.dk.

Methinks you are correct!

Methinks I grabbed neogeo.zip when I grabbed the other ROMS but some unkindly negative vibe merchant included the wrong neogeo.zip in the pack! So, again thanks to the kindly citizens of this forum, I went to mame.dk and promptly downloaded the file again, patched it into my set and BOOM, everything is working like a charm once again. To celebrate, I played a game of Samurai Shodown II.

Thanks, folks!

FWIW, the latest version is 3.00, released on the 23rd. Changes from 2.90 were minor.

Yep, just to clarify my original post:

If you're having these problems, just download the new Neo Geo BIOS file. It's a much larger version: the file size has been quadrupled (or so) this time around. Perhaps the system was missing regional differences?

Anyways, game on, have fun ;)
