Hello all.

I need some help identifying an old classic arcade game. It was a football game and used rollerballs to control player movement. It was a head-to-head affair and the actual arcade machine itself had a horizontal screen and was pretty big (like one of those old air hockey tables). Once the action started, I remember beating on those rollerballs like mad.

Thanks in advance and any pictures of this classic would also be appreciated.

Those rollerballs are called Trackballs or the Atari trademarked name "Trakball"

Another thing of interest about this is the style of arcade cabinet you described is popularly known as a cocktail cabinet, if you're curious what they're called.

Everyone who ever played this game has had the skin on the palm of their hand pinched to holy hell. I once got a blister it pinched me so hard. Loved the game, but my hands would just get eaten by that trakball.
